Start to finish was great. Called to get reservations made & was well taken care of, but on the Thursday before Valentines it wasn’t really necessary. The food was exquisite and the service was top notch. Everything I would expect from a stellar restaurant- it deserves it’s reputation asnone of the absolute best in Wichita! Started with the spicy ahi tuna-the combination is a great starter in the flavors & textures. Entree went portabello fettuccine and my wife had the veal picatta- both were divine. Fresh seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. We ended the evening with the Swiss Three Chocolate cake. Definitely a great experience and highly recommend for special occasions!

Very odd experience, won’t visit again. I visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm (solo dinner). I was seated in a very comfortable area, not around the maybe 2 other tables that happened to be there which I did enjoy. I started with the quesadilla appetizer and a glass of white wine. The waiter or waitress I’m not sure .. asked to see my Id, I gladly showed an America Passport. They then proceeded to ask me for a driver’s license. I ask them, why? And they answered that some places in Wichita won’t take that as a form of identification ( it was then clear to me this person had never seen or used an passport or knew that a passport is more official than a dl) I bring up the fact I didn’t drive here..so I dug in my wallet and found an expired license and they glady proceeded to fetch my wine. They returned with the quesadilla and I was met with a multi-grain tortilla filled with cheese on a bed of iceberg lettuce, with a side of tasteless I guess it was salsa ?? I wouldn’t order it again. Then, I ordered the cup of lentil soup with the salad w/grilled chicken… Luke warm soup and no matter how much salt and pepper I added it tasted of water.. the salad was drenched in a mayo based dressing…. the grilled chicken saved it ..I told the server that the soup did not taste good and they said they would take it off the check, I asked then for a water no ice. They came back with my third order which was a steak (the larkspur steak.. I don’t remember the name, it wasn’t rememberable) and a glass of water filled with ice.. I asked the server for the water with no ice and they went to the back and I could hear them bickering to their co workers about my Simple request. At this point I just wanted to leave the stiff atmosphere with terrible service and food to match. Looking at my tab, I was charged for the soup. The total for everything was I think 89-98$ I left a 10 tip, I just didn’t care at that point to talk with anyone there and wanted to leave asap.

We celebrated a 90th birthday at Larkspur Bistro, and the entire experience was absolutely first class. We had a group of about 15 people and rented their private room, which was perfect for the occasion. The team even let us in early to decorate with a few balloons, which made everything feel personal and welcoming from the start.

Dinner was outstanding, with a choice of steak, chicken, or fish, all beautifully prepared and served with salad and dessert. Before dinner, we enjoyed appetizers and an open bar, which set a relaxed and celebratory tone for the evening.

What truly made the night special was the service. Our waiter and the entire staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to truly relax and enjoy such a meaningful milestone. They made a 90th birthday celebration feel genuinely special.

Highly recommend Larkspur Bistro for private events or any special occasion—you’ll be well taken care of from start to finish.

We were there on a Sunday. It was a slow day, but the server was very knowledgeable only. Thank he forgot was the complimentary bread, but he offered it close to the end of our meal. But other than that, no complaints.

Got this as a gift for Christmas. Asking with “Water for Elephants” tickets.
Wonderful evening. Filet was one of the best wife has had. Her words. Shrimp and mussels were awesome. Saffron sauce was so good and blended with the pasta and sun dried tomatoes incredibly.
Only issue the $20 gift certificate didn’t go through. Manager honored it anyway.

Great staff. Great food. Great setting. It was GREAT.

I don’t know how I didn’t hear of this place before. This is one of those hidden gems in Wichita. Small cozy pretty place downtown with a whole new different atmosphere inside. Our waiter was a delight, very smart gentleman, and the food was simply amazing, the best cheese I’ve ever tasted so far in the US. The pasta is proprietary, so they do it at place, and you’ll leave satisfied, still thinking on all the great taste Drinks are creative, I wouldn’t say fantastic but they are ok. I would definitely recommend. We’ll be back some other time with family.

We had our regional holiday luncheon there today with almost 50 of us there and had such a wonderful time. Drew and the two waitresses took such great care of us. The food was fabulous, both breakfast and lunch; I can’t rave enough about how tasty it was and everyone else agreed. We will definitely be back. You all treated Minds Matter so well and we thank you!

I submitted a reservation request on the Larkspur website since there would be six in our party for 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening. I never received confirmation; however, we arrived at 5:45 p.m. and were willing to wait if they had not arranged for our party. Upon arrival I did tell the Hostess about the reservation, and she replied they had us set up. Some of our group had already arrived and been seated, and the reservation wasn’t necessary after all since there were only a couple of tables occupied. Our server, Lou, came to take drink orders and suggested a bottle of wine versus by the glass since it was ‘cheaper.’ We decided to order a bottle and asked for his recommendation. Lou recommended Pinot Noir, so we ordered it. He came back to the table and advised the restaurant was out of bottles, but he could bring four small carafes for us to share. That didn’t sound right to us, so the ladies each decided to order by the glass instead. I changed my selection since we couldn’t get a bottle. Lou seemed a bit irritated but went to get the drinks. Lou then suggested appetizers, but the table only wanted dinner, so strike two for Lou on the suggestions. We had just ordered drinks when Lou came back and said my husband’s name, asking if we had made a reservation. We said yes and he replied, ‘We have a table already set up for you! You should have said you had a reservation because we rotate wait staff.’ I told him I had mentioned to the Hostess upon arrival, and she said we were set up and pointed to our table. My brother-in-law asked if we needed to move tables, and Lou replied no. Dinner came and went and the salmon was a very small portion for the add on to my Greek Salad. It was okay, but nothing outstanding. We all ordered salads and everyone agreed pretty ho hum. My other brother-in-law ordered the Chicken Pistachio, and he said, as well, just okay, but wouldn’t order again. Then came after dinner drinks. I ordered a Kahlua coffee and when Lou served it, I asked for cream. He didn’t say a word, but my sister in laws both saw him roll his eyes. At this point I am totally finished with Lou’s attitude and rudeness. He brought the checks and we all settled but continued to stay and talk. Lou only came back and asked if we wanted water refills before we left because ‘most people ask for it.’ I only left 15% since I felt service wasn’t up to speed, and Lou didn’t really earn more than that. As we were leaving, Lou was taking another order. He looked right at me and said, ‘I guess you didn’t like my service.’ WOW! I literally couldn’t believe the audacity of this man. I have never had anyone so rude, considering we were all pleasant to Lou and weren’t overly demanding. We also noted the restaurant never got more than half full and we were there from 5:45 to 8:00 p.m. Tip for Larkspur manager: Lou needs an attitude adjustment and training on customer service. Or maybe they need new servers.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Nice variety of dishes. We stopped here while visiting Wichita and had the metro salad and salmon nicoise salad, both of which were very good. The Friday night jazz was a nice touch.

Such a nice restaurant- friendly service and great food and drinks. The cocktails are great and the calamari was delicious. We love the salads- the beet salad is the best I’ve ever had.
