There are few things as consistent as the joy a Denny’s brings me at 1 a.m., especially when the ratio is three employees to one customer. Emilia was the right amount of welcoming energy and classic diner-waitress charm. Kevin was a perfect dash of local knowledge and positive attitude. It felt like entering a place I had been a million times.
I know the saying is “as American as apple pie.” For me, it’s “as American as Denny’s.”
Thank you for being open, consistent, and integral to this writer’s process. If I ever do manage to publish a bestseller, I’ll be sure to thank Denny’s, and the many, many wonderful employees of small-town cafes whose charm and uniqueness is hopefully reflected in the characters I put to paper.

I would prefer a Hall of Fame with categories like: ‘Waitress Emilia for having the Best Playlist by an Employees Under 30,’ and stats on ‘Most People Left Smiling on the Busiest Day of the Year.’ That one goes to Alice in Bakersfield. This has got to be the worst experience I have had at a Denny’s. Red flags galore women’s bathroom was closed and I had to use the Mens. Then I ordered the tropical green smoothie and got a piece of meat in it. The meal I ordered was the BLT& E but they he told me that they didn’t have tomatoes, lettuce or avocado. So I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelet the meat was awful season with taco seasoning and the entire plate was over cooked. The hash browns were so burnt I don’t know how the server even brought it to our table. Terrible terrible.

If I could give this place 0 stars i definitely would. I live in camp verde and the Denny’s used to be such a good environment but now it was the worst and I will NEVER go back. There was one cook and one server and our server was SO slow!! He didn’t get our orders right at all as well. The cook wasn’t wearing a hair net or anything and was SCRATCHING HIS HEAD while cooking the food. We found a BUNCH of hair in the food and when we asked to have it remade they ONLY remade the eggs and they came back with hair STILL THERE!! It was absolutely vile and we didn’t feel comfortable eating anymore. We had to leave ASAP because it is not in ANY way clean. My friend had gotten food poisoning from here 3 times as well. I will be bringing this up with the health department personally! This is not acceptable at all and I’m surprised it’s still even open!! The service, the health code violations and just the atmosphere all together was genuinely the worst.

Got $100over worth of food. Not impressed sadly the burgers we’re bland, chicken nuggets were burnt, and chicken fried steak were bit cold gravy uncared for and the mac n cheese were thrown in with the fries all soggy , All fries were serve to us all small hand size portion. Over all needs improvement, for take out. servings need more professional care not sloppy.

Camp Verde restaurant Wait staff is friendly and attentive and food is always good. They have a good variety of choices and prices to fit different budgets. Here, as in many restaurants these days, take out orders interfere with service speed at times. Like the the coupons I get from a local mailer that enable me to eat out at times when my budget is tighter and it helps me to treat others to a good meal.

We had a wonderful experience off of Hwy 17 on Friday. We were warmly welcomed by multiple staff members. As we sat there it became obvious to us that this was a definite local spot also. The wait staff was incredible, our server’s name was Brandi she was exceptional. We were impressed by how they all work so well together. I’d love to capture this entire team and take them home with me for my own personal restaurant. Our food was delicious serve fast and hot.

Writing this review for September 9, 2025. I made a point to go back and write this review for our server and the rest of the staff.
We had dinner at this Denny’s location and Brandie (I’m sorry if it was Brenda) was a great host to us. Although it was late, she was smiling and chatting with us. All staff was super friendly and we loved it there.
Food was better than other Denny’s locations we’ve been to and the friendly atmosphere created by people who work there was unique. Thank you. You are in one of our good memories from our little road trip in September 25.

Nice and relaxing diner. Steak surprisingly had great flavor. Our server, Kyleigh, was kind and great at her job. Other customers were audibly being rude, but she remained positive and professional with us. Thank you Kyleigh!
