Saco River Brewing Taphaus in North Conway, NH for a few pints of some varying styles. Having drank a good amount of Saco River Brewing beers over the years I had always wanted to get to their taproom & try something right from the tit. The original location is in Fryeburg, ME, but I was just happy to try their secondary location since it was literally right next to where I was staying at the Eastern Slope Inn Resort in downtown North Conway. I’m sure I’ll get to the OG brewery eventually along my travels in the future. I mostly had their IPA’s in the past including HORNETS NEST DIPA, when I got drafts or cans in the wild. This time I went a more traditional route since I was there, grabbing a couple different style lagers on top of a IPA. ☘
My first pint was a side-pull of the MUNICH HELLES LAGER which was super crisp & refreshing, the perfect beer to start the visit with. I then grabbed a pint of the LAZY RIVER IPA which was dank & really juicy made with tropical fruit. My last pint was another side-pull, this time it was the MUNICH DUNKEL Lager, a super roasty delicious dark beer with the perfect balance of sweet & slight spiciness. All the pours here were excellent, but I really enjoyed the LAZY RIVER IPA, it totally hit the spot. ☘
The taproom has all the seating options including a small bar, hightops, tables & a patio area outside. There isn’t a lot happening inside the taproom itself to really give it its own look & standout from other places, but they’re fairly new here so hopefully that comes with time. The bartender Tim was super friendly & fun to talk beer with for a bit during the visit. They have a fridge with cans to-go for home or tastings with friends later. Again, another great spot on my North Conway trip, cheers! ☘✌♥️
BEERGASM RATING – 80/100 ☘ ✌♥️

Went in on a busy Saturday night after a day of skiing as reviews were good and google said it was less busy than other places in the area. Staff was friendly and attentive making great suggestions for food and drink. My group was happy with our flights of beer and wings and sandwiches all very tasty. We were downstairs and space was a little devoid of personality, but would recommend for food and beer lovers.

Stopped here for a quick lunch with my wife and son. Lazy river ipa was delicious as was the pepperoni pizza was cooked to perfection. My wife got the blueberry soda which tasted excellent. They have high chairs and lots of space. Our server was nice and attentive and food and drink were spot on. We met the manager who was also very welcoming. We will be back whenever in the area.

My visit to Saco River Taphaus in North Conway was nothing short of fantastic, and I can’t recommend this spot enough! It has quickly become our favorite local destination thanks to a winning combination of outstanding craft beer, delicious food, and genuinely warm hospitality.
First and foremost, the beer selection is truly exceptional. With a fantastic array of local brews, from hazy IPAs like the Hornets’ Nest to smooth, darker options, there’s a perfect pint for every taste. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to offer suggestions, making it easy to find a new favorite.
Beyond the brews, the staff here deserves huge praise. They are incredibly friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. A special shout-out goes to the manager, Eric, whose visible dedication ensures everything runs smoothly and everyone feels like a valued guest. His positive energy really sets the tone for the whole place.
The food menu offers comfort and quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the Minestrone Soup, which was hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The Chicken Caesar Salad was crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed. It’s the kind of delicious, well-executed pub fare that pairs perfectly with their beer.
Overall, Saco River Taphaus is a must-visit in the Mount Washington Valley. We had such a wonderful time and are already looking forward to our next visit—we plan to return on Thursday evening specifically to check out the live music!
If you are looking for great beer, great food, and a fantastic time, look no further.

My friend and I went here for lunch. The service was friendly and efficient. The place seemed very clean and smelled really good too. We had the pretzel bites to start, which were really good. We each got the capri sandwich and I added chicken to mine. We both thought it was kind of plain tasting. It definitely needed some salt and some more balsamic. Pesto would’ve made it fantastic. Overall it was a good visit.

I waited far too long to visit. On my first visit, the GM wasn’t very welcoming, but Kelly completely made the experience—warm, attentive, and genuinely engaging. That’s what brought me back.
When I returned, the GM happened to be off, and the difference in atmosphere was noticeable. The food was excellent, and the head chef’s specials were outstanding. The chefs were friendly, interactive, and clearly passionate about what they do.
Definitely worth a visit—ask for Kelly, she’s the best.

My wife and I are from Florida and we visiting family in North Conway. We decided to stop in Saco River Brewing for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Kelsch Kolsch and Lazy River IPA beer, the Saco River pizza, and Argento sandwich. The beer and food were delicious! The staff was also very kind and attentive. We sat at one of the best tables looking out to the ski slopes. There is a large dinning area upstairs and an outdoor patio. They have live music scheduled the next day, however, we are leaving tomorrow so maybe next time we’re in town we’ll have an opportunity to experience it. Overall, we were very impressed. We definitely recommend!

We visited North Conway recently during a snow storm. We got about 12-15 inches of snow and we had ventured out to find places open. We landed on Saco Brewery and were so glad we did! Not only were the beer selections all good, their staff were incredible! They made sure to give us a special experience, especially for being out in a storm. We watched the playoff football game and spent the majority of our day there. We continued to go back for the next few days just to visit the staff. If you’re looking for a place to relax and get out of the cold, this is definitely worth checking out!

Stopped in 4-6 of us a few times over the week. Great place, staff are incredible, fast, friendly and really help to make the place. Pizzas are delicious, got the wings a little extra crispy, they were perfect. Their drinks are great not over the top what am I drinking. But fresh and have you wanting another. Definitely stop in.

The beer was great. Location is very convenient in North Conway. Our server was great and very helpful. The food was mediocre at best. We only ordered appetizers. We got the crumbs of the nachos. The cheese wasn’t completely melted but the edges of the chips were well done (brown). The “bretzels” were basic. And the atmosphere was meh. I’m not sure how it has gotten so many 5 stars unless we were just there at a bad time. There are games to borrow and dart boards.
