To start, we ordered a glass of regional Riesling and a Pinot Gris. The Riesling in particular was a fitting choice and paired well with our starters thanks to its crisp acidity.
For appetizers, we chose escargot and bone marrow — two dishes we frequently order when dining out, as they offer a good sense of a kitchen’s technique and seasoning. The bone marrow was the clear standout of the evening. It was roasted perfectly, with a rich, buttery texture and deep flavor that felt indulgent without being overwhelming.
The escargot was well prepared and tender. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it, while I personally would have preferred a more pronounced garlic and herb butter profile. It also did not come with bread, which is typically served to complement and soak up the sauce.
For mains, we ordered a pepper beef burger and a chicken burger, both served with salad and French fries. A thoughtful detail was the restaurant’s logo branded onto the bun — a small but memorable touch. The beef burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor.
My chicken burger was equally tasty; interestingly, it was made with chicken medallions rather than a ground chicken patty. It’s a less common approach, but it worked well and added a slightly different texture, which I appreciated.
Service was efficient and reasonably quick, especially considering how busy the restaurant was at the time. We also appreciated a heads up about kitchen’s closing time, which allowed us to get all of our orders in on time. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a few standout elements and attentive hospitality.
Prices are expensive but we have noticed that Luxembourg is on the high side price wise.
Incredible tasty and delicate steak, presented well. Love that they suggest wine paring against each food option which I haven’t seen before.
A weekend away, first time to Luxembourg and various eateries to choose from. We picked a good one and would thoroughly recommend.
Also to add, love that Luxembourg is so very much dog friendly and they are allowed in all the shops and restaurants too. In London it’s very dog friendly but dogs still can’t really go in restaurants. Here they are soo welcome!
Great place for a spot of lunch.
Perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had Caeser salad that looked very impressive. Good quality ingredients, well presented and well prepared. Service was efficient, friendly and unfussy. Don’t worry about it being a tourist trap, highly recommended.
However, for the past few years, I’ve noticed that the presentation and quality of the food on the plate have become increasingly careless. I don’t know why, but it feels like less attention is given to how the food is prepared and served.
Every time I order meat, I specifically ask for it to be well done, but it always comes medium. When I send it back, it often returns overcooked to the point of being burnt, dry as a rock. It’s never cooked to my request, and Today’s burger was again medium instead of well-done, the salad and sprouts on the plate looked far from fresh, the fries were greasy and not crispy , the burger bun was completely soggy on the bottom, which made it hard to hold and eat.
It’s disappointing, because this place has so much potential — amazing staff, great atmosphere — but the kitchen consistency and food quality just aren’t what they used to be.
