We really wanted to fall head-over-heels for Sambo Restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we loved the awesome decor and the super cozy atmosphere. The server was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from start to finish. It’s the kind of place you just want to hang out in.

The Drinks & Apps:
We started with a passion fruit soda and a ginger soda. Both were made fresh and were absolutely delicious—really bright and refreshing. We ended the meal with the banana and chocolate spring rolls, which were a tasty, sweet high note to finish on.

The Main Course:
The kitchen definitely knows how to cook—the techniques were spot on, but the seasoning felt a bit shy.

Chicken Schnitzel: It was perfectly cooked and crispy, though it definitely needed a bit more salt to bring it to life.

Chicken Panang & Pad Krapow: While the ingredients were fresh and the chicken was tender, both dishes were lacking the explosive flavor and depth you usually expect with Thai cuisine. They were a little on the bland side for our taste.

The Verdict:
Sambo is a very nice place with wonderful people and a great “soul.” The food is cooked with care, but it just needs more of that bold, spicy, and savory “oomph” to match the incredible energy of the space. We’d love to come back and see if the kitchen finds its fire!

A member of our tour group recommended this restaurant and we recommend it to you. The Amok with fish was amazing as was the Beef Lok Lak. If you want to taste Cambodian food at its best this is a good choice. They have misters and fans so it’s comfortably cool. Our waitress was so pleasant with a ready and beautiful smile. The music was just right- not too loud, just easy background music. We were so impressed we went back for lunch!

Cannot rate this restaurant enough. 10/10. We found it on Google and we are SO happy we did. The menu is vast, has lots of choices for vegetarians. A mix of Khmer and Thai dishes.
It’s our Anniversary today and wanted to go somewhere special, the restaurant decor is great and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The owner is a very lovely lady and takes time to chat to customers. She made our evening by bringing us a dessert and wishing us a happy anniversary. So kind and thoughtful. We tried the Sambo cocktails and they were delicious. I had the chicken Thai massaman curry and it was so tasty and the chicken was cooked perfectly. My husband had the tofu with cashew nuts and mixed vegetables and he said it was very good. Quality ingredients. A memorable evening and I cannot recommend this place enough. If you visit Siam Reap pay this beautiful restaurant a visit for sure.

I highly recommend this restaurant: the place is full of charm and the food is absolutely delicious. You can enjoy excellent traditional Cambodian dishes, carefully prepared, with plenty of vegetarian options as well.

The staff is attentive and the manager is especially warm and welcoming. She takes the time to visit every table for a quick chat, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. A place where you truly feel well taken care of!

This place deserves so much! When you take a look at the menu you can find the story of the owner! She did such a good thing opening this place because the food was very good and the service was great! Well done!! The dessert was delicious and the waitress suggested to me, didn’t have a chance to take the picture with whole plate 🙂

One of my favourite restaurants in Siem Reap. Ended up going back to have at least one meal here everyday. Their Cashew chicken was the best in town. Balanced both local delicacies and Thai specialities quite well. Always crowded, but the staff do their best to find you a table quickly and make you comfortable.
