we loved going to this bar- we’ve been going for many years- always a good time. randomly the owner decides you can no longer wear hats at this DIVE bar. he kicked my fiance out for choosing to not take his hat off (he’s never not worn a hat here)……………it’s a basement bar LOL don’t go here…..police escort out because of a hat. focus on other things! you lost a lot of regular customers

The Bunker is by far one of the best spots in West Hartford. The pizza and hot dogs are insanely good, the pool table is always fun, and the whole place is a vibe. The bartenders too – all of them – are always super friendly and make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time there. The owner Aaron is a great guy and really puts effort into the place. If you’re looking for a solid spot to hang and meet new people go to The Bunker!

I want to start off by letting everyone know I normally tip $10 the first drink at a bar to ensure they remember and give me good service the rest of the night.
I was holding a $100 between my fingers to get a bartender attention and order drinks. One of the bartenders walk over and ask if that is a tip, I smile and laugh and say “no but I want to order some drinks and give you a tip”. He says okay and walks to the other end of the bar. He then proceeds to ask everyone down the bar if they want a drink and then finally returns to me for me order afters 2-3 minutes. Moral of the story, the bartender lost out on the $10 tip and earned the bar this review.

Definitely a college dive bar. Not really a speakeasy though it’s downstairs. Gets super packed at night, just don’t shove please. Lot of people by the pool tables and some arcades by the wall. I wear a hat but I get the new hat policy. If the girls dress to impress, so should the guys.

This place thinks they’re better than they are. First of all, the recent rule of “no hats” does not correspond with the atmosphere they offer. The environment is no where near that of a “nice” bar or restaurant that requires a dress code. It’s literally a glorified dive bar. Second, security is overly aggressive and looks for any minor issue to explode into the biggest problem planet earth has ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, great bar and I have a good time. BUT, these things alone make it an uncomfortable place to be and absolutely ruin the fun. This is not a 5 star restaurant or roof top bar. Let’s get it straight, it isn’t that deep at the end of the day.

Not only is this bar filled with underaged children the staff act like it too. Apparently there’s a rule in “every bar in West Hartford” that you can’t wear a hat after 10:30. When I asked the want to be bouncer why he said it was to “keep certain clientele out of the bar” … yeah that’s not racist at all. 0/10 this place is weird as hell.

Bunker has the most unreal legit vibes. The only bar in west hartford that serves you with a smile and the best tunes. Really loving the new no hat policy, the owner is really looking out for everyone, the girls, the guys, and the sweaty heads.

I used to enjoy coming here, but after what I saw on Halloween, I don’t think I’ll be returning. A girl was at the bar getting a drink when a man inappropriately touched her, and when she yelled at him and tried to stick up for herself she was yelled at by the bartender. I’m only going to assume that this man and the bartender were acquainted somehow, just based on how they were interacting. Some more words were exchanged and the man then proceeded to knock the drinks off the bar that the girl ordered. And yet again, the bartender was on the man’s side and kicked the girl and her friends out. Thankfully the man was eventually escorted out as well, but only after the girl and her friends put up a fight. Not sure what happened afterwards, but I am just so disgusted by behavior like that and that the bartender was so dismissive of her and was just going to let this man touch her inappropriately all because they knew each other. DO BETTER!

Cool little spot, but easily missed if you don’t know where it is. The idea of this place is cool as it’s a “bunker” in the basement of other establishments and only accessible via a relatively unmarked door at the end of an alleyway. The people are nice and some of the drinks are creative. If you have an issue with dark, low ceiling rooms then I could see this feeling claustrophobic to some.

DO NOT COME HERE PAST 10PM ON THE WEEKENDS.

Crowd is awful, everyone has 2 and half braincells, bartenders are kind and friendly. Management is absolutely trash, just for existing my glasses get broken because I just so happened to stand in the wrong spot, and people started fighting for the 200th weekend in a row. Driving home was damn near impossible for something i didn’t do. This bar needs go out of business immediately.
