We made a reservation for Christmas Eve weeks in advance, just as we have for the last 13 years. Both last year and this year there was a bit of a snafu. This year they’d had seated our whole party of 11 but then decided they needed to move us to a back room with TVs ( ) and another big family with lots of frolicking, noisy children who were literally rolling around the floor wrestling just feet from our table. It does make me wonder about their management team.

I literally sat down about 3 minutes before closing. Couldn’t find another place to eat. Raul was super kind and let me order. Food was great. Service was great. Very thankful! Highly recommend!

I got the ribeye fajitas medium rare and they definitely came out well done. It’s one of the most expensive dishes on the menu and they jacked it all up. I’ve also never seen broccoli in fajitas before, my whole table thought that was weird. Queso was good, service was good. Very impressive bourbon line up.

Overall, we had a great experience at Superior Grill in New Orleans! We were a large group of 18, and despite having only one server, the service was excellent. They kept everything running smoothly, and I hope we didn’t stress them out too much because they really did an amazing job.
The food was wonderful. The queso dip and guacamole were outrageously addicting, and everyone at the table couldn’t stop raving about them. I actually stuffed myself before my entree came because the food were that good.
I was also impressed with my ribeye steak—it was cooked perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise for a Mexican restaurant. The seafood dishes were just as good, and the portions were generous. Plus, the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food we got.
The downside was how cold it was inside. All 18 of us were freezing, and despite asking multiple times to turn down the AC, nothing changed. It definitely made the experience a little less enjoyable.
Also, the atmosphere wasn’t ideal—we were surrounded by screens, which didn’t create the cozy vibe we were hoping for. But overall, the excellent food and service made up for it, and we still had a great time!

As a New Orleans girl I love being on St Charles and Superior Grill has a great view, and the design of the building gives a great atmosphere and the food of course is delicious.

Every Friday, my husband and I would take our children on the streetcar to Superior Grill. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. Often my husband and I would sneak in for lunch dates while the children were in school. Fast forward 15-18 years and somehow the brilliance and “light” of the establishment has faded and the delectability has diminished significantly; now, the price truly no longer equates to the quality of the plate.

I really like the Superior Grille on Saint Charles Avenue. The food is always fresh and comes with great chips and salsa. The service people are friendly and go out of their way to be accommodating. I also like the lively atmosphere and the Mexican music in the background. I have always had a great meal here.

This place has a really nice vibe and we loved the Mexican art and collectables. It’s quite a large restaurant with various seating areas so you can take your pick. We chose to sit at the bar while we perused the extensive menu. They also have happy hour from 3-5pm with a large Margarita for the price of a small one. I also love that they play only Mexican music which adds to the ambience. If I lived closer I would make this my local.
