What a wonderful date night we had at Cowford Chophouse. We started the evening with a cocktail and appetizer on the rooftop. The service and salmon dip was on point up there. We moved down to the 2nd floor and continued by sharing the scallops and I had the most delicious lamb chops I’ve had since I was in Australia. My wife had the NY steak. Our server surprised us with a free dessert of our choosing since we were celebrating our 11Th anniversary. The ridiculous chocolate cake was delicious.
All in all, we enjoyed our evening at Cowford and look forward to our next celebration there.

Went to the rooftop first since there was a wait for our table even though we had a reservation. About 20 minutes later, the hostess came up to the rooftop, but not for us. My friend asked the hostess if it’s ok if we come downstairs to dine a little later as we just ordered an appetizer. She said that was fine. We came downstairs about 30 minutes later and she said she forgot to tell us that we were already past our reservation time and so now the wait is around a half hour for a table. That was frustrating. It was a beautiful evening though, so it was nice to be outside and so we decided to just have dinner on the rooftop which had plenty of open seating.
The salmon dip appetizer was tasty. The wedge salad seemed like the blue cheese dressing was a little watery, but overall still a good salad. The crab cakes had a good amount of lump crab meat in them, so I was happy with that. And the server on the rooftop was always pleasant.

We had an excellent steak—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The lobster bisque was absolutely incredible, rich and delicious. The cocktails were also amazing, beautifully made and very tasty.
Highly recommend this place for a great dinner!

Okay, it wasnt bad, let me start with that. It was pretty delicious. But was it 100/plate delicious? No way. We asked for a medium steak. My husband generally prefers medium well but knows thats sacrilege in a place like this and said medium. Came out medium rare at best. Its a 100 dollar steak! Cook it a few more minutes! The sides and drinks were average. We’ve been to several steak places just in Jacksonville that have far exceeded this place and the cost wasnt nearly so much. They also sat us right next to other couples when half the restaurant was empty….a little privacy would have been nice. And my husband sat in the outside chair and spent most of the meal being blinded by the fading sun. Very disappointed overall.

I can confidently say Cowford Chophouse is a true gem in Jacksonville! The food was outstanding—my steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. But the real surprise was their cornbread dish—honestly the best I’ve ever had in the world. We decided to head up to the rooftop, and it was the perfect choice. The view of downtown Jacksonville is stunning, especially while enjoying their delicious drinks. Inside is just as beautiful, with an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere. Overall, this is a 10/10 dining experience that I’d recommend to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and vibes.

From the moment we arrived and directed to our private room by Andy until the last bite of Crème Brûlée for dessert, the experience was truly memorable, setting a high bar for our future celebrations.
The service was simply outstanding. Our primary server, Ben, along with the entire service team, did a fantastic job of attending to our party of 14 guests. They were attentive and incredibly polite, making sure drinks were always refilled. This high level of hospitality truly elevated the evening.
Cowford Chophouse provided an unforgettable dining experience for our holiday party. The combination of exceptional food (especially the filet mignon), a beautiful atmosphere, and impeccable service makes it a must-visit for any special occasion. This is my second visit here. Came here last time for my birthday. Be prepared to spend some money. With drinks, appetizers and your meal, our bill for two people was $330.
To counter this, this is one of the best steaks I ever had. Everything is delicious, the side dishes are shareable. The onion straws are a good choice and both the asparagus and potato Au Gratin were also a great choice, even the mix drinks were well balanced.
The service here is exemplary! Your meal is brought out to every person by a server at the same time and placed in front of you simultaneously. Very classy. The server is always checking and attending to your table. I will definitely be a return guest, but just on special occasions due to the cost. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

This place is hands down a 10 out of 10‼️The food is delicious, perfectly seasoned and plated to perfection. The service was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and professional. The atmosphere is beautiful. This place is perfect for celebrating anything special. Birthday, anniversary or just a very special date night. You can’t go wrong here.
You see the food coming out and all you can think of is wow and what you’re going to order on your next visit. By the way… this place has a happening happy hour too. Situated downtown around a few blocks from the famous Florida Theater. If you’re going to the theater, do yourself a favor and book here before the show. You will not be disappointed.

Coming from Atlanta, where there’s a great food scene, I’m not easily impressed. This exceeded expectations! Great server (Marci), great food (oysters, scallops, filet, Brussels, and scalloped potatoes… oh, and chocolate cake!), great atmosphere. Get the martini with the bacon and blue cheese olives.

Cowford Chophouse was such a great experience! The food and drinks were delicious, and our server Misty was amazing & super knowledgeable and made great recommendations. All the staff were friendly, attentive, and really helpful throughout the night. The architecture of the building is beautiful and adds to the whole vibe.
