I visited Manuel’s El Burrito Restaurant & Cantina in Clearfield, yes, the very same place whispered about in the halls of hungry warriors, and discovered their lunch buffet, a mystical arena where champions are forged through enchiladas and sheer willpower.
Now, this is no ordinary buffet where you wander around like a lost luchador scooping rice with reckless abandon. No. Here, there is a Buffet Guardian. A seasoned Señora who has stood at her post for ages, defending the Chile Colorado and portioning out greatness with the wisdom of a master monk of the tortilla arts.
So naturally, my friend and I approached the buffet with the seriousness of wrestlers entering the ring. We demolished it. Salad? Yes. Tacos? Of course. Chile Colorado? In my face. Enchiladas? Por supuesto. We didn’t just eat, we ate until our stretchy pants were no longer stretchy, and we triumphed.
The service throughout was excellent. Our server was quick and kind, and the Señora at the buffet? A true culinary warrior, slicing and serving with the efficiency of a well-trained luchador.
But then… came the final challenge: the bill.
At Manuel’s, you must choose your path.
Cash… or card. If you choose the card, there is a small upcharge, an honest, noble declaration of truth you don’t see much these days. They say, “We will be transparent! We will face the credit fees like brave men, and you will pay them!” And for this, I salute them.
I paid using their online system (it was smoother than Eagle Powers), but remember: wait until the screen turns green so everyone knows you have paid and do not need to flee out the back like a scoundrel.
In the end, Manuel’s El Burrito is a place of flavor, fellowship, and buffet glory. A true hidden treasure where a man may fill his stomach… and his soul.
I give it five stars of destiny.
Something that could be helpful is to have the person seating people to bring the chips and salsa with them. That way it saves a trip to the table. We love dining here and will continue to do so.
They have complimentary chips and salsa and the portions were big. And the food was fine. Nice interior. Not a bad place for some authentic mexican food.
Finally after so many messages I decided it was time to try this restaurant. I live over an hour away so I knew it would be a journey to try the food. Me and some good friends set out on an hour and a half train ride and eventually arrived at a train station close to Manuel’s el burrito, we then made the rest of the journey by foot.
We then arrived at the restaurant. The outside is friendly and fun looking and as we entered we felt a feeling of welcoming. We then were led to our seats and we were promptly taken care of. The service was amazing! It’s been about a month since this trip so I forgot our servers name but she was very friendly and personable. We ordered our food and the wait was not long at all, I believe I got some sort of loaded burrito and it was delicious. In addition to this, the prices were very reasonable.
After we were done with our food we paid and made our way back home. It’s safe to say that Manuel’s is a must try and was worth the journey. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good and inexpensive food.
They also have a buffet.
The potatoes, Chili Colorado, Chili Verde, rice beans and enchiladas remind me of growing up. The flavors and style of this little buffet are of a Colorado/New Mexico type and flavor. The price is fair, the food is good, and the place is clean!
One thing that would send this place over the top is some home made flour tortillas. Maybe ill bring a couple from home with me next time lol Jk Jk!
