Ocala has a beautiful historic downtown with a variety of independent restaurants, some more high end dining, some more middle of the road, which is where I live.
I like good food, preferably barbecue, and good healthy portions.
I found all of this and more at Brick City Southern Kitchen.
Great food, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Really like the wall art, well stocked whisky bar, and clean washrooms as well.
I had a pulled pork sandwich.
I highly recommend the vinegar sauce, sounds odd but it works.
Cole slaw, fries and pit beans are very good too.
My wife had the BBQ chicken, great portion and quite good.
We’ll be back!!

We dined here after looking up reviews about pet friendly places and the reviews were on point! The staff was great & welcoming to our newly adopted Jack Russell Terrier who was barking almost non-stop! We dined outside and the food was great! This was our first time visiting Ocala and we’ll be back for sure with our quieter JRT

Got take out after a night downtown. Ribs were great. Food was great. I like how they didnt sauce up ribs and gave us options in little “to-go” packets. We couldnt finish our two racks, we reheated next day in oven and they were just as good. Bread is phenomenal.

Ate at Brick City Southern Kitchen and it’s a great downtown spot when you’re craving real Southern comfort food. The place has that brick-and-wood vibe, the BBQ smells amazing the second you walk in, and the menu has plenty to choose from without feeling overwhelming. I went with smoked meat + sides and everything tasted fresh, not like it was sitting under a heat lamp. Drinks are a big part of the experience too—good options if you like whiskey or cocktails. It can get busy, but it still feels worth it.

Its was so dark we couldn’t see the menu. Had to turn our flashlight on the phone to see. Brisket was tasty and tender. The smoked turkey was tender but needed more flavor. Smoked corn was OK. Collard greens were OK but sweet. Iced tea was spot on. Our waiter was great.

We enjoyed take out and it was prepared perfectly and the taste sensation was outstanding. We ordered the “whole Hog” which included chicken, pulled prork, brisket, ribs, with sides of collard greens, corn bread and onion rigs. We ate off of this order for about three meals. We come to see our son and every trip demands eating at Brick City Southern Kitchen and BBQ!!

The garlic cheddar grits were off the hook, the mashed sweet potatoes rich and velvety, and the spare ribs meaty and tender.
