Just left Paw Paw’s Fish House as we drove through Bastrop. It was great! The grilled catfish was very good and perfectly seasoned. The fried jumbo shrimp really were jumbo and so tasty. We will definitely stop here again!

Everything seasoned Perfect and melts in your mouth!!!! Catfish extremely tender ….. shrimp was as big as the palm of my hand …. tartar was the best I have ever had ….. the onion rings were golden and crispy and not over cooked ….. giant size sweet bottomless sweet tea

Fun and delicious seafood restaurant. I enjoyed a combo basket with blackened catfish and fried shrimp. Their hush puppies and onion rings were delightful too. The restaurant has many tables and booths, as well as several benches along the sidewalk.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is free parking along surrounding streets.
We look forward to going back several more times!

THE BEST catfish I’ve ever had from a restaurant! VERY fresh food with great flavor. Blows Clear Springs Restaurant out of the water! The shrimp are HUGE! Food is GREAT, service is phenomenal, and the prices are great. Portions are good size. To be absolutely picky, I found the hush puppies to be small and dry for my liking, but nothing their tartar sauce didn’t fix. The decor was great but as busy as they get, the space is small. I’d definitely love to see them grow to a larger standalone location.

Was passing through with my brother and we wanted to try a new place. Was Not disappointed with Paw Paws. Parked around the corner and after a short walk down old Main Street we were there. Had fried deviled eggs for the first time and they were amazing. The catfish had the perfect flavor with the perfect crisp and not soggy at all. The sides were great too and we even had the banana pudding. Awesome food, friendly staff and a new favorite spot! Highly recommend!

My wife took me here for the first time last night.. Absolutely knocked my socks off!! Everything was incredible! Best coleslaw, beans, shrimp and catfish I’ve ever had!! Fries were crispy, crunchy yummy as well. Homemade tartar sauce and cocktail sauce also phenomenal! 10 outta 10 would recommend! Ordered my 5 year old a paw paw platter just to have his leftovers

Stumbled upon this restaurant while at a dance competition in Bastrop and wow, what I find. Started with something I have never heard of or had before, deep fried deviled eggs served with a side of ranch dressing. They were fabulous. Had catfish and shrimp basket and it was wonderful. Couldn’t pass up the banana pudding and it did not disappoint. Service was great and efficient.
