Great dining experience, fun conversations with the bar staff who are knowledgeable about all the different bourbon. The elk chili and bison filet is off the charts good. We got there early and had plans to hit several different spots but found everything we wanted here so we closed the place. I even took a big bowl of chili home for the next day. Can’t wait to go back next time I am in Bozeman.

Great atmosphere and even better eats await in this somewhat hidden downstairs eatery. Great cocktail menu, decent draft list and wide variety of local fair. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Decent prices particularly for the quality of the food. Yummy for sure. Dark mood lighting give it a speakeasy cocktail bar vibe. Good mix of seating as well. Huge bar with stool seating in the main room. Some mixed table seating in the bar room and then a number of areas that can be cordoned off from private parties.

Very cool building, but that’s where it stops. We had a group of 4. We were seated right away. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizer was the best food out of our entire order. Drinks were good. We had Bison Ragu, Bison meatloaf, and 2 burgers. Pretty blah on all of them. The ragu came with nothing else. No salad, no soup, no bread.
The meatloaf was semi dry and the green beans were undercooked.
Burgers were decent, but not great.
The kicker was dessert. Ordered a crème brûlée and was shocked when I went to put my spoon into it. There was nothing there. The sugar was thicker than the crème. I was appalled and had had enough by then. I sent it back and asked for it to be removed from our bill. What a shame. Was super excited to try this place.
It is not worth what they charge, and nothing is done in a timely fashion.
I hope it improves.

Super cool spot down below, crazy extensive bourbon list. The steaks here were delicious, full of flavor. The compound butter on the ny strip was quite complimentary. Also do not sleep on that corn bread, I would go back just to eat that.

Copper Whiskey Bar & Grill has a lot going for it, but my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The atmosphere was nice overall, though the restaurant felt pretty warm inside, which made it a little uncomfortable at times.
Food-wise, it was hit or miss. The cornbread came out dry and disappointing, and the fried pickles had way too much heavy beer batter that took away from the flavor. On the flip side, the drinks were excellent — the Coal Miner’s Daughter and the Huckleberry Margarita were both standouts and definitely worth coming back for.
The real highlight, though, was the bison meatloaf. Hands down the best thing I tried, and it’s the one dish I’d return for without hesitation. If everything had been at that level, this would have been an easy 5 stars.
All in all, I’d call this more of a 3.5-star experience, but I’ll round up because of the fantastic drinks and that unforgettable meatloaf.

Came here for the first time and it was amazing! To start off I had the baked bree and it was a delightful appetizer. For the entree I had the chicken cordon bleu pot pie and it was so savory! I am obsessed with the spiced margarita and highly recommended. Our server, Jacen, was absolute sweetie pie and very personable as well as having excellent recommendations for anything. I am definitely coming back when I visit as an out of towner.

Perfect meal after a wonderful day of skiing. Jacen was a wonderful server. Cornbread was out of this world. Crispy brussel sprouts were just what I wanted. Steaks were great. Drinks delicious. We’re from out of town but may come back at the end of the trip!

The skillet cornbread is enough for the 5 stars! It was a busy day downtown Bozeman when we were looking for some bison burgers. Copper Whiskey had a great selection of food, including our bison burgers! While everything looked amazing on the menu we stuck to our choice of a burger and man was it delicious, juicy, and flavorful! After the downright best cornbread I have ever had, and that burger I had to be rolled right to the hotel to sleep it all off. I had a great experience from the check in, service, and food here! I can’t wait to come back!

We went at 5:30pm with no reservations, so we were not able to get a table. There was bar space available at that time but it filled up quickly after 6pm. Plan ahead and make reservations. Food was amazing. We got the Summer Blackened Shrimp and the Filet. One of the best meals we had on our trip. Highly recommend!
