Great steakhouse! We got the filet mignon with caesar salad, mac and cheese, mashed potatos, and mushrooms! Everything was really good! The salad had a great fresh dressing! The mushrooms were also incredible and the steak was very well seasoned! For dessert we got the apple tart which was incredible! Sweet and caramelly

First time that I’ve been inspired to review a place I some time, but this certainly restored faith in the potential of steakhouses. Probably should have ordered from the cocktail menu rather than a standard martini given the gin choices but things improved after that. Good selection of oysters from a Mexico to PNW to the East Coast. Varied and tasty accoutrements as well.
Selection of American and Japanese Wagyu available, plus standard Prime cuts and bone in dry-aged options (30, 45, 60) sold by the oz. Got my 45-day ribeye rare as usual, but there are something like 8 level of “done-ess” listed so I would assume they’re pretty precise with temperature control. All steak are also finished in seasoned butter, with a sauce on the side included. While I pride myself on my own steak cooking skills, the butter and dry aging really does make itself apparent in taste and texture.
Meal was finished with a large slice of key lime pie, with a remarkably delicious crust.
Service was also consistently excellent!

This was our first time trying our Lou and Mickey’s and, as fans of classic steakhouses in general, this place really delivered. The prices were pretty much spot on, the drinks and wine list were both comprehensive, and the food was quite flavorful and well prepared. The only issue we had was with the Calamari, but the steaks, shrimp, and sides were all delicious. Just stick to the staples and you will walk away satisfied.

Classic high end and full service restaurant for every taste. Full bar, great wine selection and top service! Top USDA Steaks and traditional dishes are #1. Also have more exotic Wagyu if that’s your choice.

This is a solid restaurant no doubt. Didn’t have any steaks but I have the impression that steaks here are great. The halibut was ok, the Chilean sea bass was great. Service is very professional. Highly recommend this place for a pleasant lunch or dinner.

By way of our anniversary, my wife and I spent the weekend in SD’s Gaslamp District. We love ordering multiple items and sharing. I love the idea of, “family style” Lou & Mickey’s offer. Our food was tasty but the “wow factor” was not present. My least favorite item on the menu was the spinach. I don’t normally add seasoning to my meals at restaurants but the spinach was well deserving of a pinch of salt. We chose to eat outside but was met by an overpowering stench (I’ll assume it was the ocean). The overall experience and atmosphere was great! I can’t wait to try other menu items.

First time eating a 90 day dry aged steak. Honestly couldn’t tell it apart from 40 day. If they had a 30-, 60-, 90-day aged tasting, it would be welcomed, to discover the nuisances, *hint*hint*. Was it tender? Absolutely. Was is flavorful? Definitely. I enjoyed the goat cheese appetizer but I had to request lightly toasted bread and honey which elevated the experience. The baked potato was another solid win. Would revisit in a heartbeat if ever back in town.

Five stars for sure for waiter Robert! Extremely, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without being bothersome. A very warm and relaxing atmosphere with a great location in the gas lamp District. Be sure to order the rolls. If you like oysters, don’t hesitate ordering them! I would drive age steak, that we shared, was very good… But I must admit that I’m parcel to a thicker cut, grilled perfectly by my husband. I have to mention our fabulous dessert!

My first time eating here and it did not disappoint! My ribeye was perfectly cooked and so tender. The balsamic mushrooms were my favorite side. The potatoes and asparagus were also good. The bread was definitely worth getting. The real winner was the ponzu scallops!!! Oh myyyy!!!

A San Diego institution that I was finally able to experience. And it is definitely an experience. The atmosphere and service is unpretentious and welcoming. The dry-aged steak was unlike any steak I’ve had before. The wine selection was top notch. Our server was very knowledgeable and offered suggestions upon our request.
