I have no reason to hate, so I’ll just be honest: Genuinely some of the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. This feels like a gimmick—lots of Breaking Bad themed decor because Hank from the show owns the spot. But what the heck is he supposed to know about barbecue? You’re better off spending $100+ elsewhere for other food. Influencers love to post this and mention how the meat falls off the bone and is so tender. Sure, that does happen, but it’s completely flavorless.

I ordered quite a bit with my group and I swear we only ate the Chili Cheese fries in entirety, which were really good. For the 3-meat plate we got pulled pork (was a ball of lazy shredded pork), brisket (tender and pulled apart easily, but all the seasoning was caked on top in a thick layer, not cooked into it. It was also the DRYEST meat I’ve ever had), and ribs (again, no flavor whatsoever). This place prides itself in smoking the meat for like 26 hours but what does it matter if it dries it all out and flavor isn’t cooked into it?

As for the sides: Toast wasn’t even toasted much and the bread was simply white, likely store bought. Mashed potatoes were chalky and pasty. Mac n cheese lacked flavor and were watery. I’m not even joking or exaggerating with any of this, it truly wasn’t good. We got boxes to take back the 1+ pound we didn’t eat because we simply didn’t like it, and I just ended up throwing it out. I wasted ~$120 on bland, dry meat with lazily-prepared sides. Please, do not come here until this establishment picks up the quality of food. Recent reviews haven’t been as good as past ones.

Good food and great service. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The place smelled heavenly. Nothing beats that smell of good smoked barbecue.

I had breakfast this time around. Everything was cooked to perfection. This is definitely going to become my go to place whenever I’m in the Temecula area. Try it out, Support, some local business, and experience the magic of old town Temecula transferring you back into the Old West days

Update: came back two days later for the BBQ. Ticket home on a 2 hour drive. Reheated it once I got home and it was so good!

Had 2 sandwiches and supposedly their better sandwiches, let’s just say turkey was undercooked, sons brisket cheddar was either left over from the night before and chopped up and reheated , the onion rings were a grease bomb mess and service sucked. No hospitality, very dry not friendly, both my son and I felt rushed and or felt that it was about numbers getting in and out vs quality and enjoyment. For $68 id rather go anywhere but here honestly. Badlands bbq is way better hands down. The lady beside us said that the restaurant stunk of grease after she said that I was like , yup it doesn’t smell good in here… highly recommend going elsewhere, lastly if this establishment cared about the negative reviews they’d respond and make it right instead of just replying to the positive reviews.

The place is a little smaller then what I thought, but still decent. The lighting inside was extremely bright so we decided to eat outside. They had several seats and heaters outside so I was comfortable. The food was great! Tried the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and smoked chicken. All was great. And the house sauce was also really good. Will definitely be back again to try more. By the way they have allot on the menu to choose from. Service was fast and friendly also.

I enjoyed this place so much I went back to back. First with my son and the next day with a friend. We are from Texas so if we like the brisket… you know it’s fire. The wings were amazing too.

Keno’s with a facelift.

This grease-grilled diner posturing as a BBQ joint is nothing but an ill-conceived deception to the residents of Temecula. The wait staff was kind and earnest for the most part and I have to imagine that even they were ignorant to the stomach churning slop they were serving. From jawbreaking baby-back ribs that felt like chewing through the dried sponge you use to clean countertops and a cabbage stew served in mayo broth they called “coleslaw” to say the food was underwhelming would be too generous.

However, the real terror came not half an hour after departing the Swing Inn. The ribs returned with a vengeance bringing forth a chorus that wrought our doom: the bubble guts. Both my fiancé and I succumbed to illness 3 blocks away at another, much finer establishment. Holding back the tides of nausea we had no choice but to leave Temecula trying to keep our dignity and bowels from escaping us.

Texas BBQ is their specialty but I opted for the liver and onions that they have served since 1927! I was not disappointed. For $17, you get two thick beef liver slabs smothered with onions on top. Sides were vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. Heavenly! The wife had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries. Also excellent! They have 3 bbq sauce containers at the table: sweet, house and spicy. I’m sure you’ll find one suited to your taste. For dessert, we had the cinnamon roll. Their specials screen mentions that their cinnamon rolls are the best in town. I would have to agree! It’s so moist and buttery. I loved every bite of it!

Came here for brunch with a table of 10, there was a wait so maybe call ahead. Breakfast was good, steak was delicious.

I would recommend if in area

Fun fact: Hank from breaking bad (dean) owns the spot.

No welcome when we entered the restaurant we sit there for two minutes. Three different people looked at us never said anything. We finally set ourselves. The food came out we ordered the identical things. The meat was undercooked in my opinion, especially for a pastrami sandwich. The bread was not toasted. The waitress never came over to ask us if the food was good or if everything was all right I asked for a ranch dressing for my onion rings and I would have finished my meal before she bring it, but I stopped eating for about five minutes and she finally bring it over overall bad experience. The food was not that good and the service was definitely not good

Excellent lunch at the iconic Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ, a historic institution with a surprisingly modern twist: it’s co-owned by actor Dean Norris (known to Breaking Bad fans as Hank Schrader!). We devoured the Texas-style craft BBQ and the signature home-brewed Schraderbräu Marzen beer. For fans, the entire place acts as a subtle Breaking Bad Easter egg, though we just missed Dean that day. Fantastic BBQ.
