I took my husband to Mellow Mushroom for the first time. I used to visit the Citrus Park location often before it closed, so I was excited to bring him. The atmosphere was amazing, and the restaurant was packed. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive, especially when taking our order.
We ordered boneless wings as an appetizer and two small personal pizzas. When the appetizer arrived, it was bone-in wings with the wrong sauce, so we had to send them back—even though our waitress had reread the order and everything was correct.
About 10–15 minutes later, the boneless wings came out, but they weren’t hot or even warm. It seemed like they had been sitting out for a while. We didn’t mention it because our waitress was already extremely apologetic.
When the pizzas arrived, one was correct, but the other—which we ordered as thin crust—came out thicker than the original crust pizza. We brought it to our waitress’s attention, and once again she was very apologetic and had a new thin-crust pizza made.
I’m hoping this was just a one-off experience, especially since it was my husband’s first time at Mellow Mushroom. He did enjoy the pizza, but we were definitely disappointed by the multiple issues we encountered.

This was our third time at Mellow Mushroom, we had passed them in the past in Texas and here in Tampa but we had no idea it was a pizza and burgers joint. It has a pretty cool 70’s vibe with some blacklight/psychedelic wall art and decorations. Since we are in Tampa the AC is kicking so it was pretty cold. We ordered and shared a half meatball hoagie and a medium Mighty Meaty pizza. The hoagie was good but the tater tots were a little soggy. The pizza was really good, we love pizza and my wife is a pizza snob from NYC and we both loved the thin crust….crispy and not a lot of bread so we could enjoy all the toppings. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back and try some other things….

I went to Mellow Mushroom for a date night with my boyfriend and the experience was terrible from start to finish. We stood at the entrance for over a minute without being greeted, and the hosts at the front had miserable, uninterested attitudes ,no smiles, no greeting, no basic courtesy. We weren’t asked if we wanted a booth or a table and were seated at a cramped table surrounded by other people, which immediately set the tone for the night. For context, I was a server and a host for four years, so I know what acceptable service looks like, and what we experienced here was absolutely unacceptable. The host staff looked annoyed to even be there, and if this location is going to continue hiring teenagers with bad attitudes, they either need to retrain them on basic hospitality or hire people who can at least manage a smile and a greeting. Our server never introduced herself, barely spoke, and showed zero attentiveness she took our drink order, didn’t check back, never offered refills, and eventually just dropped the check without any interaction, making us feel rushed and like an inconvenience. The food was just as disappointing: the pizza was soggy and unappetizing, and the spinach and artichoke dip tasted like burnt Parmesan. For a place that brands itself around pizza, the quality was embarrassing. Even the decor didn’t match the brand when you hear “Mellow Mushroom,” you expect fun, mushroom-themed vibes, but instead it felt like a random tropical forest café that made no sense. Overall, the service was terrible, the food quality was poor, and the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and lazy. Management seriously needs to address staff attitude and retrain their front of house team.

We have visited Mellow Mushroom many times for many different occasions. This visit however was different, this was a mother-son date that was a much needed time spent socializing and sharing what is going on in life. We were blessed with the most amazing waitress, Maddy. She was kind and quick. We did not have to wait too longvfor drinks or food and she spent the time needed to be social and engaged when asked a question. We tease that we only go here when we have nowhere to go next, because waiting for food forever is the norm. We were happy with our food, our service and we had a wonderful time just hanging out.

I came here with a party of 17 and they did a fantastic job accommodating our party. We ordered up many variety family style meal for everyone (maybe little too much). Our party had an amazing time and enjoyed our visit. Staff was super friendly and the seating for our party was perfect too. Quality of food was good and selections were also impressive. Great job and keep up the good work! Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable.

I discovered pepperoni pizza rolls in Fort Walton Beach back in the 90s and have not had them since but mellow mushroom has re-created it and they are amazing! Great service, great atmosphere and an amazing lunch. Recommend to anyone!

Great pizza. Waiter was awesome. Hostest staff was lacking (person calling names was so quite that a costumer missed their name called) and I waited in the wrong line (one for picking up pizza and one for eating in) and no one asked if I was picking up or dining in till I got to the front. Still give it 5 stars though. I would go again.

I’ve not been to a mellow mushroom in 20 yrs. In another state, if it’s the same, don’t know. We walked in quick seating, ordered and delivered very quickly. I had a calsone, was delish. Family had pizza, delish. Impressed. We’ll come again. Bathroom needs work though, paper towels

Food was a disappointment this time. My second visit here and I tried all new items. First visit was good.
This visit I learned that the pretzel bites are NOT good. Tasteless and the sauce barely makes it enjoyable.
Calzone- ummm no… they can’t even cook it right, everything is soggy, interior add ons not distributed, cheese blend makes me sad.
