This was our first time here, and we ordered the Meat Treat for two. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The cornbread was really good and even better with the butter. The dirty tots were a highlight, fully covered in sauce and pulled pork yet still somehow CRUNCHY. The sausage was juicy with a nice level of spice. The ribs had good seasoning but were pretty dry and stuck to the bone. The brisket had good flavor and would pull apart, though some pieces were drier than expected and not as tender. The mac and cheese was creamy but had a weird musty flavor, almost like the smell you get from an old building. They also offer two BBQ sauces, one tangy and one sweet, both were unique. The sweet BBQ sauce was my favorite but mixing it with the tangy BBQ made an even better flavor.
I’m giving this place three stars because, at the end of the day, this is a meat-focused spot, and ironically the meats were the weakest part. Great ribs should fall off the bone and brisket should pull apart like butter and unfortunately we did not get that here.

First time eating at Tank House on a recommendation of a coworker. I had the prok ribs and brisket along with Mac and Cheese and greens. My favorite items were the brisket and Mac and Cheese, best I’ve had in a while. My only dislike were the greens which were a little on the sour side. I highly recommend this place. The bar has many craft beers and drinks. Tank House was conveniently located downtown with plenty of nearby parking.

Tank House BBQ and Bar has a great BBQ vibe and the flavors are solid overall. I’m giving 4 stars because my chicken came out a bit too dark for my taste, and I wish the sauce/dr was a little less heavy—but portions were generous and I’d still come back to try other items.

Just downright fantastic food every single time I come here! Very consistent. And so many different flavors and made with love. I have to make it here minimal twice a month. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND TANK HOUSE for your go to BBQ and Beers night out!

I’m in town for a conference, and I wanted ribs. Tank House BBQ had a rating slightly better than other dedicated rib places. Overall I was disappointed. I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with the tater tots. The meat was very tough and had to be torn off the bone. This is the opposite of the ideal which is meat that cooked soft first, then bbq’d with enough seasoning and juices that it neither falls off the bone when you pick it up nor adheres so that you need to put effort into tearing it off with every bite. I knew this was going to be a tough meal as soon as the waitress set it down. The cuts between each rib we’re so precise and clean. It looked like someone had cut perfect strips through a tough block of meat. The tater tots were greasey and inedible. I did see other patrons with mac and cheese and coleslaw. Both of those sides, which I did not have, looked really good. Overall, I wouldn’t return.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while strolling through the Midtown Farmers Market in Sacramento. The enticing sight of the large BBQ barrels next to the restaurant drew us in. We decided to order the BBQ ribs, which were delicious but lacked the juicy goodness we had anticipated.

We were in Sacramento for the day and wanted some bar b que. Did a google and found this place. You order at the bar and can sit inside or outside. We had the brisket and pulled pork and they were some of the best we have ever eaten. We had the cole slaw and mac and cheese for the sides and they were excellent. The mac and cheese was the best we have ever had at a restaurant

I came here for the 4.4 stars on Google review. I had ribs and brisket. Ribs were very dry. The sliced briskets were sold out so I had the chopped briskets instead. They were med and lack juicy flavor I was looking for. Overall this place is overrated and I’ll not come back.

Love this place!! 6 hour drive north for us when we visit Sacramento and this is one of our favorite eateries. The food is delicious…all of it!!!! Portions are generous!!!! The staff has always been very kind, helpful, and welcoming to us over the years!!!! Actually above and beyond . We are older so would prefer olds school (maybe 70’s) music But we understand music changes with the years MIL is very picky and hard to please and she loves the food and takes all the leftovers for herself.

The smokiness of their meat is amazing, I continued to smell it on my hands for the rest of the day even after washing them several times. I had to resist all urges to over eat here and keep trying more, and I will definitely come back. The brisket was delicious, and the ribs were too, although they weren’t the most tender ribs I’ve had.
