We had such a great experience at Dear Dads! I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was absolutely amazing — perfectly crispy chicken with fluffy waffles and the flavors were spot on. Definitely one of the best I’ve had!
Our server, Isaac, was incredible as well — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they really care about their customers.
We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and great service.

If you haven’t eaten here, you are missing out. The service is top-notch and the food is divine. Parking is tricky, but I assure you, it’s worth the wait. Call ahead for a reservation if possible, but don’t be late. There is always a line of folks happy and excited to get a seat. This is the kind of home-cooked meal and hospitality everyone wants. Dear Dad’s is the perfect name for this family home-style dining experience. Don’t forget the fresh-squeezed orange juice!!!

Really enjoyed myself. The server Jenny was so kind and accommodating! The music was fun, not too loud! The food came out fast no long waiting time! Overall really enjoyed myself, my third time coming here and it’s been amazing each time. The food never disappoints! The Cajun pasta and ceaser salad was soooo good!! 10/10

Heard about this business via a family member! Every time I go, the place is crowded! The best way to get a seat is to make reservations! My wife and I tried this out and reluctantly, the “bark is much louder than the bite” for me! It felt like the Waffle House mixed with a “hole in the wall for me!” I had the carrot cake pancakes, a side of steak strips, sweet potato fries accompanied by miniscule pieces of catfish w/ pinto beans and rice! I had some tasty Jamaica(hibiscus, sugar) water and my wife had the Cucumber water! The food was hot, served quick but not anything that I would care to have second portions of! I didn’t taste a piece of carrot nor any nuts as I know that these are prime ingredients in carrot cake! I did taste a hint of ginger/all spice seasoning. The cakes had cream cheese icing in them, but were extremely dry on the palate, and needless to say; discarded! My wife had a red velvet waffle which tasted moist and fulfilling versus my dry unfulfilling pancake! This was my 1st and probably my last visit to Dear Dad’s! It was awfully overpriced and not worth the gas nor the hype! Thank you for the disappointing occasion!

Very good! Bf had the Skillet, he enjoyed it. I had the breakfast chilaquiles. The red salsa is SPICY, and will stain, be warned, but omg it was delicious! Beignets were ok, decent for what they were. Bf says coffee was superb! And omg the orange juice! It’s squeezed right in front of you and fresh! It has pulp, but you drink it like you’re eating the orange! We loved it.
Staff were wonderful. It was busy, but in the good way: they’re popular and for good reason.
10/10 will come back

The last time we were in town, the wait was a bit too long for us to stay on a Sunday at brunch time, but Saturday lunch visit? Worked out great! 30 minute wait on a lovely day (although they do use text notifications, so on a bad weather day you could wait in your vehicle).

Parking is a bit difficult but you can drive out the back of the lot if needed and come back around.

Food was received pretty promptly for how freshly it was made, and our sever was excellent. I didn’t get a pic of my BILs Reuben but he said it was very good. Excellent fries for his side.

I had a classic plate with amazing potatoes, turkey sausage, and the side of strawberry jam! The scrambled eggs and toast were OK. I also tried the cucumber refresher which is pricey but, well, refreshing, and a free refill was offered.

My spouse had the pork chop, broccoli, and mashed potatoes with gravy which were all good.

With the exception, of my eggs and toast everything was super flavorful and tasty.

It does get busy but everyone was super nice. Small but clean restrooms. A variety of indoor and outdoor seating although limited as noted.

Will definitely be back! I hear rumors they have a second location coming?? I’d love them to come to the Charlotte area.

Overall, I would highly recommend. You’ll get good food, but expect a wait.

Parking: We came around 11:30am on a Sunday and the place was already packed. There was no parking when we got here, so we had one person to run in to get on the waitlist. We had to wait 40 minutes to get seated outside with a group of 4.

Service: The waiter, Aryn, was friendly and quick with our drinks. She kept checking up on us and making sure our drinks are full. The food came out relatively quick after we ordered.

Food: The food is delicious. The table shared Fried Mushrooms with ranch and a house sauce (a slightly spicy sauce). The ranch was good with the mushrooms, but mixing the ranch and the house sauce was delicious. I had the Carrot Cake Pancakes was nice and fluffy with a sweet creaming icing drizzle. The corned beef hash was definitely homemade and not out of a can. The rest of the table had Nutella French toast (see picture), dirty home-fries, bacon, scrambled eggs, Chicken and Waffles (see picture), and Fries. Everyone enjoyed what they had except the eggs. The eggs were not seasoned.

DELICIOUS!! The chilaquiles are a MUST!! The biscoff latte is also sooo yummy!!
We also had the red velvet waffle, so soft and melts in your mouth almost like cake and the icing is the perfect sweet, not over powering.
The nutella french toast was sooo yummy!!!

Sunshine was our host and her name is an understatement, she was so kind phenomenal and also speaks spanish, we loved her.

Will be back again, 10000/10

In town visiting family and my grand kid, who goes to A&T wanted to go to this place so took her and her friend. We went on a Thursday and figured it would not be a long wait. This place is nicely decorated, kinda looks like an old Waffle House building or something outside. The inside is really cool but the place was packed and there is a small waiting area in the back so it may be best to wait in your car if it’s cold or hot outside as the area only has three seats and you can constantly dodging folks moving in and out from the back area where they do the dishes. We did have to wait about 15 min for a table. As for the food, I ordered chicken and waffles and the others ordered red velvet pancakes and some type of strawberry pancakes with some ice cream on top. The kids also had bacon sides and took beignets to go so not sure how those where. As for the chicken and waffles I had, they were ok. Waffles with some chicken fingers, I would preferred some chicken with bones…leg, breast or something like that. And I’m not sure what was going on with the kitchen that day, and I’m not sure if it was the batter of the waffles or the powdered sugar but they had an odd smell to them that reminded me of vegan cheese, which if you have ever had vegan cheese, it’s a really chemical smell so I only ate the chicken and the smell was on the chicken also. I had a side of cheese grits and they were excellent. The kids liked the place a lot and I don’t live here so I didn’t say anything. Also, some real maple syrup would be a great option as I don’t like the sugary stuff that most places serve. We sat right in the front door and people are constantly coming in and out and it can get cold, so putting up a barrier in the front door would help with that. They are opening another place in downtown Greensboro so this place should get some relief soon. Service from the wait staff was fast, friendly and great.

I got in around 10am and was immediately sat at the bar as I dined solo. I suggest 10:30ish if you want to get a table. My server, Nikki (who also worked the bar), was wonderful. She constantly checked on me despite it being so crowded. I ordered a 3 egg omelette (steak, tomato, and jalapeno) with a side of hash browns. Both were very well made, and very good. Arcadio, one of the host, was very friendly and helpful when it came to me choosing a plate to-go. I got the biscotti French toast, that came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That was amazing as well. Now, that biscotti isn’t on the menu yet, but just ask for it and they got you. My only problem with my experience here was the parking. It’s absolutely a royal pain in the butt. I was lucky to catch someone leaving as I was coming in, but I definitely watched other struggle as this is a super tiny parking lot. People were blocking the exit and dumpsters by parking there. I had to exit by leaving out of Elizabeth’s Pizza, which is next door.
