Dave Poe’s is always one of my favorite spots to eat. His BBQ is well known in the area, and I was looking for something new. Apparently he has a Cuban sandwich now. I am not sure if it is on the menu, but you are sure going to want to try it while you can. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, so enjoy!

The brisket was very dry and tough on my second visit. The first time I came it was much better. The mac and cheese and green beans were good both times. On my second visit, I just got the brisket and mac and cheese. Mac was great again, but the brisket was a big letdown. It seemed like it had potential, but I’m not spending $25 again for a coin flip on whether the meat’s edible. Giving it 3 stars because the sides were consistently good. Hopefully it was just an off day. If you’re looking for consistently good brisket, Heirloom Market or Owens and Hull are the way to go.

I hate to make this review but im tired of wasting 30 plus dollars at these “high end” bbq joints. It’s so upsetting to waste money on something i know 1000 percent for a fact I could do better at home.
What are the trophies for on the wall??????
Cause it darn sure wasnt for my brisket I had i can assure you that. Sauce couldn’t even save that imitation beef Jerky.
-Smoke flavor- none.
-Brisket – give it to your dog.
-Sides- just get the sides. Thats what keeps this place alive im assuming. They’re alright. Same grade of taste as bar food.
-banana pudding – fake as all get out box brand.
– sodas – coke gone. Root beer gone. Just get sweet tea. Dont expect soda.
– service- terrible. I felt like I was about to have a grade A experience with how long it took to get my food. The individual alone taking my order was a rough as all get out. Sure enough another flop in the atl area.
Listen its 2026 change things up. Take some classes learn some new bbq techniques and you’ll be alright.
Otherwise keep it up and some joe shmo is gonna open up 2 blocks away and put you under.

Who knew this delicious bbq joint was here. I’ve been zooming past it for the past decade until a business partner invited me to have lunch here. What a great lunch experience I had. The okra was perfectly fried, great brisket, and very tasty Mac n cheese. The service is pretty quick and a great price for grabbing a quick lunch. I also loved the SEC football decor throughout the restaurant. I see they also love the ROLL TIDE as much as I do. Yummy experience

Great first visit! Cashier was super nice and helpful I did not catch her name but wanted to mention her in my review because she was so nice. If she sees this: Thank you! I ordered the rib plate with mac n cheese and collards then added a side of pulled pork. Dang it was all so good. The ribs were my favorite and they gave me a huge portion I believe it was 7 ribs! Very generous portions here. The mac n cheese was wonderful. Adding this place to my list of fav mac n cheese. I was unable to eat all my food so I took it home and it reheated beautifully in the oven the next day. Definitely going back and definitely recommend it if you are looking for some good BBQ!

I had a wonderful catering experience! I needed BBQ for 45 people with 24 hours notice. Mindy said she could absolutely help and walked me through menu options and quantities. When I went to pick it up, the food was ready and the service friendly. They threw in a cup of banana pudding when I told them it was for my son’s birthday! Most importantly, the food was delicious!!! Highly recommend for lunch or catering.

I had Dave Poe’s BBQ cater my daughter’s wedding reception at an upscale venue in Woodstock , GA. The food was SO delicious that guests came back for seconds, and everyone told me how much they enjoyed the food! Their BBQ is award winning and the sides (especially the Mac and Cheese) and appetizers were also excellent and flavorful!
Mindy was in charge of the catering, and she was such a joy to work with throughout the entire process. She is amazing at her job and works with your budget. Wedding planning is so stressful, but Mindy made it such an awesome experience because she is so sweet, extremely helpful, and absolutely goes above and beyond to make the customer happy! I 100% recommend Dave Poe’s BBQ and working with this lovely lady, Mindy, to anyone looking for event catering! They are truly the BEST!

Kicking myself that I haven’t discovered this wonderful location before. Stopped in with my fiancée as we both work on Dallas Highway.
The owner himself, Dave Poe came by to our table personally to introduce himself and even gave us a sample of the outrageously good mac and cheese. Everything was great, the baby back, brisket, onion rings, you name it! This is the kind of independent neighborhood place that you can’t wait to return to and support. Thanks for everything Dave!

Wow! Just wow! This is delicious food! When we pulled up, there were no cars out front and we almost went somewhere else. I’m so glad we didn’t. My husband and I agree that although this isn’t our absolute favorite barbecue (that would be a tiny hole-in-the-wall in Kentucky that no longer exists), this is an incredibly close second. Fall off the bone ribs, delicious melt-in-your-mouth brisket, homemade ketchup, mild and sweet yet somehow slightly spicy house sauce, paper towels on the tables, the whole thing. This place is award winning, and you can see why. Their mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. Seriously- they say you’ll dream about it and they aren’t joking. And their jalapeño cornbread was sweet and just a little sticky but also spicy with just enough heat to make your mouth tingle. My husband got their fries. They were crispy and almost in a beer batter, but not exactly. Seriously- I recommend this place to everyone!
