An old-school spot right off the Strip, Osaka Bistro serves Japanese small plates and sushi, and has a great late-night menu.

Everything was fine, just not quite what we expected! It’s an old Vegas restaurant and has been around the block a few times and it shows! It’s very dark and a bit dreary with no windows so I think that affects the experience. We wanted both teppanyaki and sushi so sat at the grill and enjoyed the show Carlos provided! The menu is a bit overwhelming, no, I take that back, it’s a lot overwhelming! Perhaps if they had a separate sushi menu and maybe a separate grill menu it would help. Our server had to come back 4 times in order for everybody at the table just to get through the menu! We ordered two sushi rolls along with a shrimp and a ribeye grill dinner. The sushi was good, each roll unique in both taste and appearance and the teppanyaki was delicious as well. Quite disappointed in the ribeye though, it was two very thin cuts of steak that as soon as they hit the grill they were cooked medium! Everything was enjoyable and the service was good, I’m glad we stopped by!

With all the Japanese restaurants all around Las Vegas, this spot has a nice touch to it. You’re not coming here for the restaurant alone, but for a specific vibe. There is a whole section of the restaurant that has tatami mats where you get to eat in a traditional Japanese environment without your shoes. There’s not too many places that offer this so I highly suggest coming here just for that reason.

There’s food is good quality sushi, but they also even have a hibachi section as well, which is where they cook in front of you.

Overall, my main reason to come here is mainly because of the tatami mats and the fact that they have a large area of this for large groups. The sushi quality is really good and they even have small sake cups, which are very common in Japan.

This place does a decent job. I would say very middle of the road but consistent. Delicious selection of plum wineIf you’ve never had it before, you should try it.

Definitely a hidden gem. We saw this place on an old episode of diners, dives, and drive-ins, and put it on our list of places to go. Guy does not lie! This place was amazing! It’s been around since 1967 and it’s obvious why this place has successfully stayed in business so long. Probably some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The dumplings were amazing. We also tried the short ribs dinner which were very flavorful and tender. The service was perfection. Definitely recommend!

Stopped by here for lunch during my Vegas stay. Despite being a rather old building in a run down area, it was a very pleasant experience throughout. It was quiet throughout the restaurant and was filled with classic Japanese decor, including some tatami rooms whenever available. I had the nigiri/roll lunch combo with some NA beer and warabimochi. The sushi tasted fresh and the mochi was a nice way to finish the meal. Koko was a very nice server who was ready to help whenever needed! All in all, I had a nice and relaxing time here, and I would definitely visit again when I have the chance

Been coming here for over a decade and the food quality and service is always great. And the fact we like to have a late night sushi snack and they close at 2am.

Amazing food, fresher seafood than we get back home (which is on the coast). Recommend the Chef’s Choice Nigiri and Screaming Salad.

I saw this place reviewed by Guy Feiri and knew that I had to come. Very good experience with food, service and atmosphere! Off the beaten path, but well worth it!

Great authentic Japanese flavors and always-friendly service. The only downside is the decor; the restaurant is old and needs a makeover. Come for the food, stay for the hospitality, but ignore the tired interior.
