SERVICE: Pedro is a fun server and really good at his job. He had a really nice way of adapting to the personalities of each each table. Yes I am nosey so I noticed.
FOOD: The claims were good, just a little fishy for my mood but my partner really like it. We shared the Alfredo and the noddles taste like they are in hous home made and the sauce too. We ordered extra chicken too. The portion is a single size portion so you can eat it alone. I nust wanted less food yesterday.
AMBIENCE: the only thing is the christmas garlins slipped down behind us, but the place is cute quaint and inviting.
Thank you, I am a new yorker that left a while ago, so it was nice to come home and have this gem
It was very busy.
The chap on reception was doing an incredible job. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes and received a call to say our table was ready.
We were seated upstairs which was larger than I expected. I personally would not have liked Downstairs seating as there were people waiting everywhere inside for a table, perfect if you like people watching tho!!
The meal was delicious, we had breadsticks to start, two each, then a salad and then the main. Mine was chicken plus spaghetti on the side, huge. Portion sizes are so generous in New York, we could easily share a meal.
I couldn’t fault the service.
We even had a wonderful view of the Christmas huts from our table.
I would throughly recommend and book as popular!!
Our server was so busy all the time and when we asked for black pepper we didn’t get it or perhaps she forgot, but when we got our main dish we asked her for mayonnaise and she said that they have only ketchup with a ride attitude, then we asked another employee and he when to the kitchen and brought some mayo.
She never when to our table to ask how was everything or if we needed something but nothing. And at the end when she dropped our check she added the 18 % of tips when is not mandatory but she said that they add the gratuity for all the tourist, we are not tourists we told her!! but that is approved by the manager she said. We asked to talk to the manager and she denied saying that the manager was occupied.
We are from Queens NY and we have no problem to tip when we get good service but when anyone even tourists get a bad service and there is not hospitality why we should tip good or why servers have to included in our check.
At the end she removed the gratuity but the bad experience was already done. Again food is good but don’t expect to receive hospitality and be ready to see a busser crumbing the table with his hand, never expect a smile and forget to hear enjoy or how’s everything. Tank you so much Monica R for your great experience!! hope you can understand the word “hospitality”and we Know you can do it better..
I didn’t have high expectations, usually restaurants around Times Square are tourist traps, where the food is not the best….but this was different, the food was actually very good, not far from what would you get in a great italian place
