Price was about 25 bucks per pie, but we boxed up half to go home, so for two meals, cost was ok.
Service was helpful, attentive, and warm. Pizzas came out as they were done cooking, which was explained in advance.
The vibe here at the GVR Casino is “upscale sports bar”, and there are plenty of screens to watch your favorite sporting event, but it’s dedicated to NFL once the game starts.
If you’re wanting to watch the game and get a drink, this would be a great place to also grab some food!!
If you’re a STN card holder, you won’t get any points here as they are not affiliated with the casino. They have their own loyalty points system, though.
The truffle fries were surprisingly good with excellent crisp and exploding with flavor.
We will be back to try more on the menu!
It is now Sunday morning and still I’m still thinking about how bad that Pizza was last night. I remember it as being much worse than I thought last night. Seriously there was not a whiff of moisture in that drab overcooked piece of whatever it was. I even thought that it could not have come from Pizza Rock. But I still have the box and it does say Pizza Rock on it. To me it looked like it was a previously frozen Walmart over nuked pizza.
Honestly, I want my money back with an apology.
Although the pizza’s were truly amazing, our server was the best ever. Her name is Maria. She has a great smile and she had great suggestions. Maria took lots of time describing the different types of pies. She never left us waiting for her. Ask to sit at her table
The service at this restaurant was impeccable; from the hostess who escorted us to our table (I didn’t get her name…but the one who worked at that station ~8:30 pm). Additionally, our main server, Danielle, did an outstanding job that evening; she was “down to Earth,” extremely attentive, and operated very efficiently. Also of noteworthy significance, the girl who brought us our drinks was very friendly. We even commented on how happy she looked – that was another employee I wished I had retrieved her name. The restaurant’s décor was nice; however, it was a little loud in there which at times, made it difficult to have a normal conversation.
We ordered the Mother Trucker and Tenaya Creek Hefeweizen for our drinks; Italian Chop Salad for a “shared” appetizer; and Smoke Show and Quattro Carne pizzas for our main entrées. I’ve tried the Quattro Carne pizza before at their other location and there’s a reason why we ordered it again…it’s just that good. The Smoke Show was a new pizza to us and I wanted to ensure we try a different pizza at every visit…and boy, was that the right choice. Although that “Millionaire’s Bacon” on the Smoke Show pizza did not make me a millionaire that evening or overnight for that matter, it sure was magnificent and added the perfect blend of flavor with the other ingredients. The Italian Chop Salad was crisp and did not contain a heavy dose of dressing which I appreciated because I’m not one of those “salad with my dressing” type of people.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable. Is it more expensive than other pizza restaurants in this city? Maybe? However, I am a firm believer that you pay for quality and this restaurant definitely provides top-quality food and service. I appreciate this business for their support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans – thank you for that. Overall, I love this restaurant as depicted in my 5-star rating. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house because it’s remarkable, then again, I’m glad this restaurant is far away from my house (I live in the far Northwest part of the city) from a health standpoint. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Overall, the pizza was very flavorful, though a little on the greasy side, but nothing that took away from the enjoyment. The portion sizes were generous, perfect for sharing, or if you’re feeling extra hungry, you’ll definitely have some leftovers to take home.
The prices were also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get, which made the experience even better. The service was excellent, too — our server was friendly and attentive despite us getting there closer to 9:30. It was a very enjoyable meal, and I would highly recommend checking out Pizza Rock if you’re in the area!
