The food is good without a doubt, for a “hole in the wall” I gave it a solid 4-stars. However, when I consider the following factors, I must say that the Owners are milking both ends:
1) Customers are paying high prices for services and food that does not correspond with wages.
2) Employees are not being paid FAIR Wages, bare minimum is not fair. When a restaurant is charging its customers top dollar .

This restaurant is a good place to eat at. We went recently i was very disappointed the Chile station very dirty. I have worked in the food industry before. I was taught fifo.. the staff was like what ever…. cashier sticking her fingers in the cup while serving ice to fill them up.. was disgusting to see that.. we brought our food home there were plenty of tables available..

Flautas are a must here, I got 3 papa and 3 carne and I couldn’t decide which was better, but both were 10/10 for sure. The queso fresco and salsas always so good.

THE BEST FLAUTAS I HAVE EVER EATEN! And for $6! I waited in line several minutes to order flautas and steak tacos and lemonade. Long line – when the food is this amazing and the prices this low, then a long line is expected. They have a great salsa bar – i could drink the green avocado salsa – it is so good! The pico is as good as i have eaten – just balanced, fresh, not very hot – but EXCELLENT! Also cucumber and radishes and other things on the salsa bar to give the food a fresh twist! The waitress brings me chips as soon as i find a table and i devour the salsa bar’s offerings. The flautas arrive shortly after – covered in crema, queso fresco, onions, tomato, avocado – the flautas are rolled tightly, fried perfectly – not greasy but crisp – a delectable bite! The steak is covered with white cheese and the fresh tortillos with it make an amazing pairing for the flautas. If You are in El Paso – do Yourself a favor – eat the flautas at La Cometa!

Rush you out.
Food is uniquely tasteful. However, the staff is constantly interrupting to clear your table (x2), if everything is ok (x2), if there’s anything else they can do for you (x1), and if you’d like desert (x1) all within my 1hr 15 min visit.

I’ve seen staff only bring out food. Considering you order YOUR own food/drinks at the counter and get YOUR own condiments (pic attached) I’m not sure why it’s necessary to interrupt your meal, seemingly every 5 min, other than to rush you out…for tips sake or just make more money.

Today they began blasting music as loud as a night club (common problem in other reviews) during a heavy period which made it difficult to have a conversation… It stopped once the people thinned out. Could be my imagination or a strategic business model but after validating this a third time… I’ll go elsewhere.

Used to be a lot better for less..now it’s more cost for dried up flautas and very little toppings.. extra toppings (crema, avocado, onions, tomatoes)cost you over four dollars…

I came in to grab lunch (to-go) .
Once I recieved my order , my son asked of I can eat inside , so I said yes thats fine. As I’m eating a waitress comes over first asks if im going to eat here (which I obviously was eating) next she proceeds to ask if I tipped the cashier . I said I didn’t tip her . She was very persistent about it stating that if I tipped the cashier that she needed to know so she could claim the tip . She seemed very bothered by the fact that I changed my mind and decided to sit inside the restaurant and eat there . She was very desperate for a tip, i told her I would tip her once I’m done eating. Then a male comes over to ask if i want a drink almost insisting that I get a water which I declined. Overall the seemed very bothered that I had the audacity to sit inside this restaurant and eat the $14 meal I just paid for . I went to get change for a $20 as I was leaving because this woman seemed very desperate for a tip .when I tipped her she just grabbed it in a desperate manner. I felt weird and disrespected. I will never return here I would never recommend this place . The food is mid. The place smells like fabuloso cleaner . This place was nearly empty and yet somehow they weren’t welcoming to a PAYING customer.

Always Amazing! On my last visit to El Paso, TX I brought my grandpa to eat here for the first time! The restaurant was very clean. The salad and salsa bar was clean and filled up. The agua frescas they have were refreshing! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. This taqueria is undefeated. ❤️ my grandpa and bestie all ate here and we all loved it! If you’re visiting EP or are debating if you should try this place… do it… you will not regret it ☺️

I loved their food and the the service was fast, I loved tacos,

But the security guard at the door needs to get better at receiving people and de escalate the situations not make them worse, what kind of respond is getting the hell out and to go away just because he was just asked a simple question I don’t think they belong there if there escaping away costumers away from the establishment.
