Social Profile:

Aurora Guerrero left the rural mountain village of Huanusco, Zacatecas, Mexico in the late 1920’s. She worked on several recipes and in 1934 finally developed her own style of home-made taquitos with guacamole sauce. For almost 100 years, Cielito Lindo has been selling Grama Aurora Guerrero’s taquitos with guacamole sauce, which have delighted generations of local customers as well as visitors to Olvera Street from all parts of the world. Over the years this Los Angeles tradition has remained unchanged and is still a perfect combination of simple and wholesome ingredients.

Since 1934 this humble stand’s been serving taquitos, tamales & burritos on historic Olvera Street.

A working man’s tacquitos.

Cheap, filling food, no big flavours. Had the beef taquitos, with spinach and cheese tamales. All the sauces add some good variety to the flavour.

Quick, simple, cheap.

Massively disappointed. I’d think based on the reviews it would be decent food, but the bean and cheese burrito I got was barely warm. And I think there were some hard beans still, which you generally shouldn’t have. Service also seemed not that warm, which you also need to have a good reputation.

Yes the taquitos are as good as they say. Perfectly crunchy with lots of flavors, and make sure to dip each bite in their amazing green sauce. Wow. Love this place.

Chile relleno burrito was a disappointment not to mention the hair I found. We also had the chile relleno plate with the taquitos chile relleno was alright nothing special. The taquitos were alright too but I wouldn’t go back. Too expensive for the quality of the food.

I haven’t had these in almost five years, I had a friend go and I was off as it was MLK Day 1/15/2024 and it was amazing. The taquitos were fresh and the line wasn’t too bad. We had to wait about 10mins. The menu and hours are up to date.

These taquitos are amazing. Remind me a tiny bit of El Paso’s chicos tacos. Ordered 2 just to try them and back in line for more. Get the taquitos that have rice and beans. The rice is really good. The champúrado was amazing and hot.

Great experience and food!

Traditions are great but don’t always mean leading edge innovations. So I had been craving guacamole sauce. Watery guacamole according to my friends. We were on date night and decided to stop by and get a taquito plate. Wifey wanted her sauce on the side. She remembers it being very spicy when she had it as a kid. Well the guy at the counter said the magic is the sauce. He was right. Food was ok. Like high end fast food which stands to reason since it’s a small stand in a historic location. Definitely would order again if in the area, but may not be one of my destination spots. Olvera street needs some TLC, maybe a craft brewery. Lots of history and potential to be had.

OG spot with simple, fresh, delicious food. I had the #1 Combo, 3 Beef Taquitos which were great. There are a couple of spots to sit or take your food down the walkway to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance.
