Been here several times. The pop tarts are always delicious. Tried the breakfast egg rolls and they were good. Chicken and waffles is consistently filling and tasty. French toast was delicious with good butter. Darby could’ve brought out syrup with the French toast. The Philly cheesteak arrived after the rest of us were almost done eating, luckily it arrived hot. Management did discount the food. Darby checked on us infrequently so when she did come to our table we gave her a list of items needed and she would only remember some items. Overall we will continue to occasionally go back. The food is worth the slow service.

The best breakfast we’ve had in a really long time. GET THE POPTART especially at your first visit. AND tell them its your first visit. You’re welcome lol. I also had the fried chicken Benedict and it was phenomenal. The service here was excellent. We will absolutely be back !

We came Saturday because we wanted to check out the Hunt Valley Horsepower car meet. (Haven’t been in years) So we stopped here for breakfast first! For some reason I thought this was a smaller coffee shop but to my surprise was a really nice big restaurant! We got seated right away in the bar area but had to wait a few minutes for the bartender to take our order. We were actually about to leave and go to Chick Fil A when the bartender finally came. His great attitude completely changed the situation! He was great! The food was really good too! I got the sausage gravy which also came with breakfast potatoes! Both were so good! I will definitely come back here the next time I come to Hunt Valley Horsepower! I live about 1 and a half hours from here or I would come back more.

With reservations for 25, the day before the lunch, I called and adjusted the count to 20. Seventeen classmates showed up, and I expected more from the restaurant. My Cinnamon Bun Pancakes were so good, as big as the dinner plate used for service! After raving about the scrapple, I had to eat my words, and the scrapple, very thin and dry
One person was brought out a cheese hamburger but his order was a plain burger. His correct lunch came out after most others were finished. My husband had to ask for the third egg included with his big combo. From the menu, he expected more scrapple. He ordered poached eggs. One was perfect, the others were half poached, half hard boiled. Drinks were not refilled without asking.
None of this was the server’s fault. One server for 17 people. And no less than FIVE other tables.
On the first phone call, I was careful to explain that each couple, or single, would pay separately. This group has a monthly lunch and most pay cash. If I had been told this was not possible, no reservation would have been made. Several restaurants have told me upfront what their payment policy is, which is appreciated.
The bill comes. The server couldn’t (wouldn’t) split the bill more than 5 times. She said it was too much trouble. No manager could be found to resolve the issue. We found enough cash but I will take this restaurant off the monthly list.

Our first poor experience at Iron Rooster after several that were much better. They had an HVAC problem that kept the dining room uncomfortably cold, and the service was sub-par. The chicken & waffles was still delicious, though.

I’ve dined here many times. My favorite order is the Ranchers Benedict. The corn salsa and the green tomatoes are always great, full of flavor. Today my waitress Lexi was wonderful – specifically I observed her being incredibly kind to a full table of senior ladies. She didn’t rush them. She was engaging with them and laughing along side them. Great customer service Lexi! Exceptional employees should get recognition.

Breakfast in a spacious and relaxed atmosphere is what you get when you enter the Iron Rooster. This was my 2nd time coming here and both times I had a great experience. Week days are not as busy as weekends. My server Daniel was great and the food delish. My food choices were the Crabby Omlette and Shrimp and Gritts with a mango Mimosa. If in the area try them out!!
