Almost there.
Service and atmosphere:
The restaurant’s design, decor, and overall aesthetic deserves 5 stars. The seating arrangement flow and restaurant cleanliness was very good too.
Service was just okay. Our server couldn’t explain dish on the menu when asked, thus we had to ask for help from another server who fortunately had more food knowledge. Our server wasn’t too attentive either.
Food and drinks:
We were excited about the food by reading the menu, however, the dishes we ordered didn’t quite deliver.
The portions were too big, lucked seasoning and flavours, and the biscuit and chicken plate didn’t arrive with any gravy. I am glad that the fried chicken was done well and wasn’t overdone. That was the main positive.
We didn’t try any cocktails or wines during our visit but you definitely can opt for some at this establishment.
Pricing:
$$$ we liked the place, ambiance, and location but I can’t justify the price points based on the quality of food and service received during the visit.

The brunch menu is a lot better than the regular menu imo. Our server was friendly and attentive, he gave us some good recommendations when we asked. My friend got the mimosa flight and two of the drinks were ok, but the other two were mid. Overall, I liked this location better than the Sugarland location

I contacted State Fare requesting information on their private room and price information. I spoke to the manager Laura, she was very helpful, informative and polite! I called her several times with additional questions, she was always polite and friendly! I decided to have my retirement brunch there. The food and service were outstanding!! My family and friends loved the food, the location and the amazing service! Thank you guys for making my Retirement brunch amazing and stress free!!!

Stopped here for a drink during happy hour. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very nice and attentive. The food was very yummy! I loved my drink and the brussel sprouts! My husband enjoyed his old fashion and I feel $7 is a good price for any drink around this area!

Whether you want breakfast or lunch, their menu here has its all. Bigger pancakes and bigger breakfast plates. Don’t double order cause everything is heavy here already. If you love eating, this is for foodies. Haven’t tried much on the menu but breakfast items only. Workers here, I have a change of mind about. Parking is limited, so get here early. Coming back seems to be unlikely for me now. I felt treated unfairly. Been here more than once, never had an experience like this one before. Sat at the bar, on 12/13/2025, and everything had a feel of normal service, whether busy or not. What I dislike is when a customer like myself didn’t tip through my card, and only with cash, and now reading my statement this morning, there was 20.00 more removed from my account that I didn’t authorize. That’s Stealing. I sat at bar, a less busy brunch Saturday there’s no reason for this to happen, whether busy or not. Payments and orders should not be mixed up as a Mistake. As what management said when I explain a 20.00 loss from my account, in which was never authorized by me. She later told me over the phone with communication, “I will refund your money,” as they noted a mistake, someone had the same exact amount, but my card was charged a 20.00 tip, from 71.46 with no tip on my card to 91.46, which is fraudulent. Not a mistake in my eyes, when I marked 0 for tip on both Merchant receipt and Customer receipt for the total of 71.46. I left a cash tip, that how it should come out of my bank. Please, people watch your bank statements and what you spend. Time is hard, and money is hard to make. There’s no way I would complain about a tip, if I Authorized it. This makes me feel uncertain about ever coming back here, despite the refund of my money. Food was good, but service was unfair. This one star, should be no stars at all.

Came here yesterday for happy hour! It was very nice place I would say I felt under dressed lol but the happy hour had a lot of great options. I got the chicken nachos. It was okay I would come back to try the oysters on the menu as well!

I just wanted to share with ownership and management how special Yaz made our afternoon. I called with a request for a quiet area for my sisters and dad to celebrate an anniversary date in memory of our mom. They went above and beyond to giving us a quiet place to honor our mom with photos and lunch. The service was perfect and the food is always delicious. We were coming from all over Houston and Austin to get together in honor of our mom and wife and State Fare made a sensitive moment memorable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We were able to laugh, share memories and be together and not feel like we were bothering anyone else in the room.

Forbidden Couture Plus
I had Mrs. Jackie as my waitress and she was EXCEPTIONAL! We had a party of 6 with different pallets so there were a nice amount of substitutions and she executed them all so well and in an excepting and friendly matter. Everything came out as ordered and the food was amazing. Mrs. Jackie was AMAZING. I ordered the chicken cob salad and substituted the smoked chicken with the honey chicken and it was if you decide to visit here ask for Mrs. Jackie as your waitress, you won’t regret it!
