I absolutely love this place! Every time I come to Detroit I make it my first place to go. The ribs with the cherry molasses sauce are out of this world. Best fried pickles I’ve ever had in my life. The jalapeno muffins were epic as well. I also had the best beer of my life there. It was a honey blood orange. I hope they keep it forever lol. I absolutely love this place and tell everyone to come here if they’re going to Detroit.

Food was amazing. Meats well prepared and the sauces are an awesome blast of flavor that was not expected. Our waitress Karen was very helpful and did an amazing job waiting on us and staying on top of refills. Not sure how this place isn’t more packed. Only thing negative which is not the restaurants fault is the construction out front. Not that there’s much of a view other then the casino but I’m here for the food. Highly recommend trying this place out. I’ll be back for more.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, just before a Tigers game, with a large group of 11. We were the only patrons in the place when we arrived. We ordered a variety of dishes, including burgers, brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, and pulled pork nachos. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, praising the flavors and quality. Our server provided excellent service, and while we did have to wait a bit longer than expected for our food, it was well worth it. Note that an automatic 15% gratuity is added to the bill, clearly indicated at the entrance. Overall, a great dining experience!

The food was great. My beer, not so much. It’s my fault for not saying something when I was there, especially since I paid for it. The draught lines need a good cleaning. My beer had off flavors and floaters in it.

Back to the food: I ordered the classic combo with Texas smoked brisket (which was fantastic!) and Andouille sausage, along with Mac and cheese for the side. Everything was great, except the corn muffin that came with was very dry.

Service was good and prompt.

I would recommend.

Pulled Pork Spinach Dip was good. Pulled Pork Sandwich, the pork was dry, not a lot of meat and too much bun. Crispy Chicken Quasadilla Roll too much fried tortilla, kinda greasy. Mac n Cheese is very, very bland. Happy we had a gift card to cover some of the tab.

I ordered through DD, so I can’t speak on anything but the food. The ribs were bomb, with or w/o the sauce. I got the sweet sauce, and it was sooooo good. The regular sauce was good, but I prefer the sweet one. It was perfect. I also got the yams. In my opinion, they were too sweet. I had to doctor them up by adding some salt to them, and then they were perfect. It came with an jalapeño corn muffin, which I didn’t like. I don’t do spicey stuff. I wish they would have given an option for you to pick if you want a spicey one or regular. It was also a little dry. I’d definitely try some other meat selections, though, because the ribs were chef kiss. Just fell right off the bone.

Authentic Southern BBQ in downtown Detroit including REAL sweet tea!

I ate here a few years back and was hoping they were still in business. It’s about a half mile from my hotel so it was a nice walk back and forth for an excellent meal and experience.

My server just started today but he was excellent and a witness to how good the BBQ is here. He said he recommends to all his friends and family are in town from Chicago. I had the ribs, coleslaw and jalapeño cornbread muffin. The ribs were perfect – nice smoke ring, firm and juicy with not a lot of fat. Each of the sauces was unique and tasty but I mostly ate them without sauce. The coleslaw was interesting- slightly sweet with some hints of broccoli. The muffin had a very satisfying flavor – the jalapeño saturated but didn’t overpower.

Such a great experience overall!!

Took my two girls under 10, and ordered the 4 person platter…. Food for days!!!!! It was their first taste of smoked meat. They loved all of it, but Mac and cheese was a huge hit. As with the corn muffins… win all around..

I expected so much from this highly recommended place that I was told was the top BBQ place in Detroit.

Me and my brother ordered about $80 worth of food. We would have ordered more but nothing in the appetizer menu was appealing or stood out.

We both ordered 2 meat combos and added extra sides. We got both types of ribs and the brisket. We both got the candied sweet potatoes/ yams and mac and cheese. Ribs were pretty average but didnt taste fresh at all. The btisket was highly dissapointing because of how dry it was or unfresh. The mac and cheese was different but we gave it a pass. The candied yams were the best thing we ate and in the top 3 places for BBQ for them just a lil too much juice but they were 9.2/10. The cornbread muffin had potential but was just ok because it was too grainy/ mealy. We didnt want to finish it or the brisket. Biggest dissapointment was the bbq sauce. Nonr of them were stand out or anything I really wanted on my good but because it was all that was there thats what we used. Service was decent but the aircondition continually blasting made us very uncomfrtable.

We centure to try lost of food spots and taste before giving judgement and this place just wasnt that great at BBQ. The tip already being including lets me know food cant be that great. When the food is good we always tip more than what is listed. Would not go back unless it was for the sides.
