We walked in weren’t greeted. The cashier was fairly rude. Food is cook to order so that wasn’t a problem, the chicken was obviously fried in old grease, you could smell and taste it. The “roll” was a hamburger bun lol. I won’t be back here these ppl are not welcoming at all.

Very much a local place to get authentic food – from Cajun to donuts. And beignets. Fresh made to order. They offer plated breakfast served up in styrofoam containers. Daily specials are offered too. Sunday: double hamburger on a bun with fries $6.99 and it comes with a free glazed donut too! Monday: red beans and rice is $11.99 served with a glazed donut. There are tables for dining in. Local radio plays in the background – staticy and distracting. ATM on site too.

I stopped in on Sunday, Feb 28 to inquire about their donut holes. They have an excellent assortment and I tasted some and those donut holes and fresh and delicious. I inquired about placing an order and the ladies at the counter were courteous and professional. They gave me a take out menu and I am so impressed at the menu. I will definitely give this local restaurant my business and promote them. Thank you!

Just as normal my family stopped by Tastee and got the lemon pepper wings with fries potatoe salad and of course a dozen of glaze donuts. Everything was Great!!! I got skipped in line tonight by a Lil lady and her kids. I said “what ya’ll doing?” But the good in me left it alone. But yeah check them out. Don’t worry about the long wait because it’s only three folks back there fulfilling orders.

I selected the Seafood breakfast – Fish option with grits and scrambled eggs. I also turned it into a combo with a donut and pink lemonade. Yummy!

Another great late night spot for food. The donuts are the number one items but the food is also great.

I had never been here when it was Tastee Donuts, but now that it’s Big John’s Donuts, I’m glad I finally stopped in! The donut selection is huge – we ordered wedding cake, Boston cream, Napoleon, blueberry crumble, and apple crumble, and every single one was fresh and delicious.
I’ve seen people online joke that the area isn’t the best, but my real experience was different. I walked in with my 2-year-old and saw moms bringing their kids for burgers, families waiting for their donut orders, and a shop full of smiles. The staff was friendly, service was great, and the vibe was welcoming.
And here’s what makes it even better: Big John’s is open 24/7. If you’re craving donuts late at night or early in the morning, this is the place to go in Kenner.
As someone who also enjoys great local food in Kenner, I can honestly say this town is lucky to have spots like Big John’s for donuts, and The Original Italian Pie for pizza, calzones, sandwiches, and pasta. Whether it’s a sweet tooth fix or a full meal, Kenner has some amazing local restaurants worth checking out
