Friendly atmosphere the hostess received us with a great smile, great service.
The food was great for the price we paid and for it being at the airport I would have expected to pay.
One recommendation to give them, the window covering need to be dusted & wiped.
They do add 18% tip to your bill, but they are straight forward with it , stating in writing that you may increase it, decrease it or remove it since it is optional.
Otherwise from what i notice& saw, the area looks cleaned(only reason I withheld a star

When you’re flying a budget airline that is located in a budget airport the food is not going to be above average. But it’s going to be on budget. The food in Casavana wasn’t spectacular but the guy helping us out was really friendly and did a good job. My chicken was dry but the rice and beans were tasty. Don’t wonder too long whether you should eat here or not. It will most likely be just fine!

I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was here. I wasn’t sure being in the airport and the seating doesn’t match the signage. There are booths and table and chairs. It felt more like a cafeteria style place. They do have quick grab food items or sit and have a drink or a full meal.

There were 6 of us and everyone talked about how good their food was. Highly recommend if you have some time to hang out give it a try!

If you need to charge your devices be sure to sit in a booth or along side the wall. No outlets at the table seating

Would give zero stars if I could. Joe led me to a table, super nice, but unfortunately, Jeniele was my server. My food came out super quick, I ordered the pan con bistec sandwich but it was not like the other pictures or reviews. Steak was barely cooked and very chewy, cilantro sauce was good. Within 10 minutes of the food arriving, she brings me the bill and says “here’s the check, no rush”. She comes back while im still eating and says “sorry I have to check you out because my shift ends”. I had also ordered a side of maduros, she never brought them and when I brought it up, she didn’t apologize or offer to bring them either so she removed it. She never followed up to see if I wanted anything else, just simply gave me the bill. I give her my credit card, and she saw it and still didn’t tell me about the 2.80% credit card surcharge. I would have left more in tip and paid it in cash if she had told me and served well. So terrible service overall. The tables around me who had other servers seemed more attentive though, and the area is nice and has charging areas.

Family operated business and they truly care about their customers. Excellent food quality and service. It was our first Cuban breakfast and we plan to return when we are back in town.

Hamburger is not super tasty but fresh and with quality. Side of fries was also cooked recently. Price on the high side but worth it. I asked for a draft modelo. Temperature ok. Service is quick but you feel the push to get out soon. Watch out with the bill as a 18% service is added in it and then in the credit card receipt for your signature, there is a blank space for Tip. This restaurant is in the gates area after crossing security.

I hadn’t been to Florida in several years, and when I saw my flight connection at Fort Lauderdale was around three hours, I thought: “Wow, finally I’ll have time to enjoy Cuban pastries and croquettes, something I haven’t had in so many years.” Google showed me that Casavana was right in the terminal where I was arriving, Terminal 4, Concourse G. Since I came from Texas without breakfast, I ordered a guava pastry, a guava and cheese pastry, and three ham croquettes. What a huge disappointment.

The pastries were soggy, not golden or crisp at all, and the guava filling was so watery it barely tasted like guava. The ham croquettes were white, full of flour, with hardly any ham — they didn’t taste like ham at all. Honestly, it was the worst pastry I’ve ever had in my life. On top of that, I asked for a Cuban café con leche and they only sell it in a tiny cup. If you want a larger cup, you have to order American coffee.

The food didn’t look appetizing, the place looked run-down, and to make it worse, if you only buy pastries or croquettes you’re not allowed to sit at the tables — they only let people sit if they’re ordering from the menu. So I had to take my food to the airport waiting area to eat it. For a place that claims to serve authentic Cuban food, this was a complete letdown.

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Genuinely a terrible experience from the top down. We waited to be seated for about ten minutes without any acknowledgement. Then, when we were finally seated, it took another ten minutes to get menus and nearly 30 minutes to get a water. The place wasn’t that busy, either. We waited for our food for 40 minutes – and when it finally came out, it was lukewarm and tasted quite disgusting, to be honest. The plantains were good, but my sandwich was gross. Be aware that they don’t put pricing on the drink menu – expect to pay 20 dollars for a mediocre cocktail here. And that’s before the automatic 18 percent gratuity.

It’s a shame that there aren’t many other sitdown options in this area of the airport. All we wanted to do was sit down and regroup before our flight, but ended up spending close to ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS on 2 mediocre drinks and 2 awful sandwiches.
