Staff friendly and helpful.
Selected the Tommahawk steak to share, was great quality and taste.
Cocktails were great quality and taste too.
Restaurant had good and clean lines and lighting.
Let down by the dreaded service charge (11%) on the bill, I never understand the need for these charges, and alas means I won’t be going back, however thats a personal thing, but be aware.
Steps into the building makes.it difficult for wheelchair users.
Come for the Tommahawk, stay away for the service charge.
The wait staff were very nice and pleasant and quick to take our drinks and food order. We didn’t feel like we were waiting overly long to be served.
The food was alright, perhaps it was the choices I made on the night but I wasn’t bowled over by it. The starter was pork belly which was nice but the accompaniment of cucumber was rather watery, I understand cucumber is a water heavy vegetable but some of it could have been drained from the plate before it was served because of that it washed away the taste of the hoisin sauce.
Main was the gammon grill which was rather filling with gammon steak, two sausages, eggs onion rings and chips. It was a decent portion size so I would recommend and good value for money. The dessert was the best dish of them all sticky toffee pudding with lots of toffee sauce! It was delicious and definitely recommended and worth waiting for.
The menu was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was nice. They do a good range of different food options on the menu. It was a pleasant evening and nothing overly wrong with the food but I personally wouldn’t rush to go back to eat there again.
The food is ok, but nothing special. If you believe BBQ is a flavour that comes from a bottle, then you’d be ok. In my opinion, it doesn’t have any place in a good restaurant.
We’d ordered our food many weeks in advance but they managed to send up two pink steaks in place of two well-done steaks requested.
We got discounts/gift cards in lieu, but I’m not going back, so I gave mine out right away.
The waiters were patient, friendly and helpful. My colleague with a restricted diet got her order, which was great. They even provided a last minute order for our party/group.
Would have been a perfect evening if those two things were gotten right
The food was top quality, cooked to perfection, and the service was spot on throughout.
A few months back, they really made my birthday feel extra special with some thoughtful touches. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.
The restaurant itself I felt was overrated. For the price I would expect much better. I ordered a pie for dessert and it was frozen I couldn’t bite into it. The staff were happy to help and brought me out a different dessert as the pie hadn’t defrosted yet. The second dessert was a brownie with the consistency of mousse. Which I can only assume was microwaved frozen dessert.
My starter and main meal was wonderful. But I would consider lowering your prices if you’re going to serve frozen dessert.
We had an absolutely dreadful experience at Middleton Steakhouse in Norwich. From start to finish, it was a complete letdown.
Firstly, the service was appalling – not only did they forget that we ordered sweet potato fries (bringing standard fries instead), but we then had to wait even longer for the correct ones to arrive. To make things worse, they forgot my popcorn sauce that I specifically ordered with my steak.
When the food finally came, I was genuinely shocked. My steak was disgusting – the colour and quality were vile (see attached pictures). It was completely unappetising and nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a place that markets itself as a steakhouse.
To top it all off, they added an 11% service charge to the bill without even informing us. Yes, it’s printed on the receipt, but a heads-up or a bit of transparency would have been appreciated, especially considering how poor the service was.
This was hands down the worst dining experience we’ve had in a long time, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
