We order the pick two comes with a barbecue sandwich a bacon wrap and coleslaw. And my bf ordered a burger. I didn’t even get my entire meal! No sandwich no bacon wrap no coleslaw. Then told me my meal didn’t come with a drink. I’ve been going here for years. We went inside to let the manager know and she told us we were lying. SMH. Why would we lie about a sandwich and about not getting something we paid for. Then the manager she proceeded to look through our bag of food (THAT WE ALREADY PAID FOR) with NO GLOVES after running the drivethru moving the fries around in the bag telling us the sandwich was in there and we weren’t telling the truth. We went through the drive thru and parked went inside to be told we were lying. It hadn’t even been 2 mins since we went through the drive through line. You guys should be ashamed!!! And we will not be back. And make sure everyone knows about our experience! I will be contacting corporate!! Look how much money was wasted!!!!! Doesn’t even look appetizing. I didn’t even end up getting my coleslaw or bacon wrap and had to go back inside to get bullied and told your lying over a sandwich!

Visited 11/15/25 I ordered a milkshake with Heath bars and caramel cheesecake. I dropped it on the floor before I could even taste it. After I was cleaning up the mess, I went to the cashier to tell him what happened and getting ready to pay for another. He said I heard it drop on the floor and we are already making you another one no worries. That’s the best customer service team ever! I would definitely return soon

As a longtime Cookout fan who first discovered the chain during late night college runs in North Carolina, I always make a point to stop by whenever I’m near one of their northernmost locations in Fredericksburg, VA. Over the years, Cookout has come a long way from the plain white Styrofoam trays to the new branded paper boxes with vent holes, which do a great job of keeping fried foods crispy and fresh.
I’ve dined inside this location about half a dozen times and have always had a great experience. The restaurant is consistently clean, the staff are friendly, and service is quick. My go to order is the Cookout Tray with a big double burger prepared Cookout Style, which means Carolina chili, slaw, cheese, and raw onions. I usually get fries and onion rings as my sides. Even though the tray used to be $3.99 back in my college days, the current price of $6.99 still feels like a great value considering the portion size and quality.
On my most recent visit, I was extra hungry and decided to try a second mini tray for $5.99. I went with two corndogs as the main and added cheese bites and hush puppies as sides, plus a Snickers milkshake to top it off. Everything came out hot, fresh, and exactly how I remember it. The milkshake was thick and creamy, just the way it should be, and I was absolutely stuffed by the end.
Cookout’s big double burgers, whether you get them Cookout Style or Cheddar Style with grilled onions, cheese sauce, and bacon, are easily some of the best fast food burgers for the price. Between the generous portions, variety of options, and late night hours (many locations stay open until 3 a.m.), Cookout continues to deliver on both taste and value.
Overall, this Fredericksburg location has never disappointed me and remains one of my favorite stops when I’m craving a classic Cookout meal. Five stars all around for great food, friendly service, and consistent quality.

My go to great on my pockets and great for my stomach love the food and the people always fresh fast and gets my order right 98% of the time I only had once where the forgot my one meal but that didn’t turn me away we all make mistakes and fast food can be a pain (McDonald’s was my first job at 15) so I get it. Honestly I like the location but the way the staff comes onto the mic yelling and cutting you off before you finish your order is ridiculous. Granted it’s fast food but you wouldn’t want someone taking your order and messing it up either because they really can’t take the time to hear you. Slow down a little, take time to listen and make sure everything is correct before handing people their orders.

Cook-Out hands down has the best burger in town! This place is comparable to In-N-Out in California. Good food + affordable price. I haven’t dined here for a while, and their quality still remains high. I ordered a tray with two sides and a drink for under $10! Trust me you won’t be able to find a price like this anywhere else

If I could give this review zero stars, I would when I say I had the worst customer service experience this entire year at this cookout at the hands of a young Hispanic woman with eyeglasses and eyelashes bigger than Snuffleupagus. She had such a nasty attitude to the point where I am unsure that I feel comfortable eating the food that she handed me. That’s how strong the negative energy resonated off of her and then she’s working at the window, giving her direct access to customers and their food. I suggest you all work on your team’s customer service and customer experience overall because it’s very lousy especially with that young lady.

So upset, had heart set on banana pudding shake and I wasted my money. Blended horribly and they use to much milk or whatever liquid they use because it was to runny. It had whole banana pieces still, and because I it wasn’t that thick felt like I was eating wafers and milk. Have been satisfied with this shake before and this experience was awful. Im in Woodbridge Va so I rarely get to have cookout so that makes it even worse. Fries I also got were ok but shake was trash.
