Wood-fired pies, plus subs & salads, are the primary draw of this small shop with counter service.

Tried the cheese pizza at Brick Oven and it was amazing! Thin crust, baked just right, with fresh tomato flavor shining through in the sauce. Simple and delicious. Big bonus — they’re open late night, perfect spot to grab a fresh pie when the cravings hit!

If you visit New Haven you can’t miss Brick’s pizza. If you don’t, its worth going on purpose. The pizza is delicious, the staff is nice and welcoming! The owner, Kadir, is super friendly. Believe an Italian reviewer, we didn’t miss Italian pizzas thanks to them.

A very solid 8.5/10 for the pizza. Not as good as some of the other steadfasts in New Haven, but still far and above a lot of other stuff you can find around the country. Kind workers with fast service. Got both slices (2 slices pictured, they’re massive) and a full pizza. Full pizza was better due to freshness but slices were still totally worth it. Dough and cheese are both really great. Large variety of sodas, obviously they have the go to Foxon Park classics there too.

I lived in New Haven back in the early 2000s during graduate school. I was back today for a visit. I said to my friend, “ this place is a institution, you have to at least go inside.” Unfortunately, it was closed. But we got lucky, the owner was inside preparing pies for a party. He was so gracious and kind. He prepared a delicious pie just for us in about five minutes. It was so delicious, the ingredients tasted so fresh. My friend now thinks this is definitely the best pizza in Connecticut. As a New Yorker, I can honestly say this place rivals even the best New York pizza (ugh! Id even say i like this more!!!). The best thin crust pizza and with the freshest ingredients. Ill keep coming back, as I have for over twenty years now.

The best pizza we’ve had in years, and I thought I’d had the best in Italy!
Also the server was so hospitable!
100% gonna visit again, from NJ.

Tried just a pepperoni slice, it was $6.50 and huge so okay, cool. But started eating it and wasn’t impressed. The crust was pretty good, crunchy base and a little puff to it, tasty. The sauce wasn’t bad, had a little sweetness which was fine. But the more I ate the more I realized there was something wrong with the cheese, the mozzarella tasted like school cafeteria pizza – like cheap frozen pizza. It was wild. I like the char on the crust and the rest of it was okay but the cheese threw me off so bad I couldn’t finish it. A shame

The employees, service, atmosphere, hours and location make this place ideal, but, the you can definitely get better pizza in New Haven. They put too much cheese on it in my opinion. The red pies and mootz pies are good, but I haven’t had good experiences with the specialty pizza’s. The workers are very friendly though, and being open until 3am is unheard of in New Haven, so props to them for that. Great soda selection as well.

Excellent pizza, New Haven style! I stopped in late and the owner shared his story with me, 28 years in business. His son graduated from Yale and is now a lawyer. True entrepreneur. Pizza was perfection!
