Last 3 times I’ve been here the experience was less than pleasant.
2 trips ago the order was wrong, and the burgers were cold.
Last trip took almost 45 minutes and the staff made it seem like I was an inconvenience to them because they were 40 minutes from closing. Lady at the front desk after finally acknowledging me was snappy and rude. The milkshake was about as thick as chocolate milk.
Now this last trip was the icing on the cake to make sure I don’t return. Ordered ahead, waited for about 5 minutes before someone finally came out from the kitchen to assist carrying his phone still texting. Got my food, checked it saw no sauce was added even though it was on the receipt for order, asked for the drinks and had to wait for some more lemonade to be made. Started to eat and found the onion rings were soggy, the burgers were either poorly assembled or wrapped as they were falling apart and had more cheese on the wrapper than the burger did.
This place is not worth the money they charge.
This place needs some good management in it and soon. The staff need to actually do their job and not sit around on phones. They should also probably hire a janitor as well.
Lunch on a weekend, decided to visit a year later. Just as slow, ordered online in advance arrived at the estimated time and waited for an additional 10 minutes in store. Store front was dirty with sticky floors. Fried food is good though… hard to screw up I guess…
Final visit, luckily their burger and onion rings taste good, I spent 30 minutes in the lobby after online ordering ahead. Place is oddly quiet and no one was out front for about 25 of those 30 minutes. Floor still dirty and it looks like none has clean d adequately in years. Ownership should really take a better look.the picture is what the register looks like even with customers waiting.
Food wise my husband and son ordered burgers. Thought they were pretty good. I had a Ceasar salad and it was maybe 2 outta 5. The croutons were super good. But the fork was too flimsy to break thru them. Dressing was gross. Reminded me a bit of that fruit dressing you get from Hibachi restaurant. Not my preference. I added grilled chicken and that reminded me of grilled shitake mushrooms, texture wise.
My husband said that’s what I get for ordering a salad at a burger place. So I’d recommend getting the burgers there.
Update: the food is not anywhere close enough to warrant a 30 minute wait. Like I said before it’s clear that the ownership is not involved in this restaurant. Employees attitude and work ethic was embarrassing. It was excruciating to wait in the dining room watching the employees doing little to nothing, moving at a pace that would frustrate a snail when they do, and not even acknowledging customers that came in to order or pickup food. Also during the half hour I spent waiting I got a good chance to look around the dining room and it appears that cleaning is not really a pressing issue for employees. Possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant/customer service oriented business. I honestly have no clue how this place is still open with the level of service and food quality being so poor, the only thing I can think is that it’s proximity to the navy base has propped up this terrible business.
The best way to sum it up is that I don’t think I would even return to Wayback burgers if everything was going to be free. Please please spend your money elsewhere and save yourself the time.
