Really nice place: very clean, friendly staff and I loved the whale carpet!
They have a good range of dishes and drinks. We both ordered the haddock and scampi dish, which was beautiful tasting. The batter on the fish was crisp and exactly how I like it. I love a but of red onion with my scampi and it came with a single ring of it. I asked for more and was amused when the server only brough out another 4 pieces on a plate.
The experience was great, but we were tired and felt like we was left waiting to pay for a short while. Probably a lack of communication from us, but they seemed to be very observant about everything else so we just expected it to be more prompt.
Would definitely return and highly recommend going.

We’re not regulars but have been a few times now. Lovely place. Always a positive experience and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Portions are a good size and you can upgrade the children’s fish to a large which mine love. The puddings were excellent!

The food was great tasting and plentiful and the desert was awesome, price was above average but worth the cost, no complaints at all 10 ⭐ for the food and 20 ⭐ for Emily.

I’ve been to the York restaurant many times and usually have the giant whaler fish but on the 21st of January, the fish was far from fresh, it was nicely cooked but tasted off. I regret not complaining about it at the time and have since decided not to return as I feel that as a fish restaurant they should not be serving any food that is less than totally fresh at the prices they charge.

Was not excited by industrial estate fish and chips, even though I knew it had a great reputation as an established and reputable chain of fish and chip shops/restaurants – well, how wrong I was not to be excited, I would eat those fish and chip shops in a car park any day, best pit stop ever. Delicious fresh haddock, the best crispiest batter, just the right thickness, and delicious chips, i am presuming cooked in beef dripping but not sure, and homemade mushy peas and tartare sauce, gorgeous! cannot wait to go back!

It was my second visit in a little over a month. The first time I came here was with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I decided to bring my family this time and they were as impressed as me as I was on my first visit.
My little daughter loved her fish and chips. Ordered three different types of items from the menu which you’d be able to see from the pictures and the receipt.
Plenty of parking around which is always a plus. Just had to wait at the door as literally there was no one for nearly 5 minutes to serve us. Anyhow once inside it was all good from the service to the food and the finishing. Definitely worth the price and the quality.
I would highly recommend this place and can honestly say it’s 10 times better than Thomsons on A64.

Regulary eat here and always good. Takeaway tonight. Not quite as good. Potato scallop so think could see through it and chips a bit scrappy. However…once out of many times isnt bad. Still highly recommend.

Had our tea here on Friday night. Plenty of staff on so tea & food came very quickly. The portions are a good size & are freshly cooked so come to the table piping hot. Cost for two of us was £40 which for excellent fish & chips, tea,peas & b&b was very reasonable. Well worth a visit…..

Collected after ordering online. All good and the right amount of salt and vinegar added. Fish and chips were still warm when we got them home. Good portion for the price paid. Will definitely return.

Went for fish and chips as a treat, let’s face it, its not a cheap takeaway anymore. Good portions lovely batter on fish…. chips excellent, You pay for what you get and the price is average for fish and chips….everything eaten everyone enjoyed it so we will be back again. 3 stars for atmosphere only because we didn’t eat in so couldn’t really comment.
