Our server was awesome, funny, and very knowledgeable. I will be back, meet you there!
As someone from Louisiana with pretty high standards for gumbo, I’ve got to say — theirs was actually pretty good. Good flavor, nice consistency… but $11 for a small cup is wild. And honestly, most of the menu feels on the high side price-wise.
Still, if you don’t mind paying a little extra for the atmosphere and a good time, it’s worth checking out.
Was recommended this place by my hair stylist who is located nearby. After watching the renovations for months, decided to go early on a Saturday since I’d heard it got super busy. It wasn’t bad and we found parking and walked right to a table. Got our food quickly. I had heard it was a bit pricey and that was the truth!
$16 for 6 nachos. Calling them nachos was a stretch, more like chips with toppings. My daughter got the Caesar salad which she liked. My husband got the Waygu slice plate and said it was the most grisly, unseasoned BBQ he had ever tasted. Same went for creamed corn and German mashed potatoes.
Very disappointed and won’t be back. Not sure if food was better and less pricey before they renovated but it wasn’t great after. It is cute and the outdoor section seems fun but the food is not worth it.
So, a table of 5 got up and I asked a server if I could grab that table. She said yes and directed me to stand next to it and a busser would be over to clear it in a moment. 10 minutes later, my wife and son arrived, and still no busser.
So we stood there for another 10 minutes and asked another server if someone would be over to clear the dirty dishes and old food any time soon. She told me, “Oh you just gotta push that off to the side and grab a seat.” I thought she was joking and just kind of stared. She then said, “Sorry, our dishwasher is suing us and it’s a crazy day. Here, I’ll help you,” and proceeded to grab a few of the dishes she could carry. Another 10 minutes and still no one to clear the rest of the food from the table. So since the sun set in the 40 minutes that I waited, we left and went to a burger joint down the road.
I feel a bit weird writing this, as I normally only write Google reviews to recognize great service and commend local business. But… this was too wild not to document. I’ve been a server, bartender, bouncer, and manager. Any one of my bosses would’ve roundhouse kicked me in the face if I’d ever told a guest to buss their own table and have a seat. That’s before even talking about the lack of host/hostess, seating chart, “section closed” sign, or management presence.
