You really can’t beat the all-you-can-eat bread while you wait, and the service has always been friendly, attentive, and consistent. On weekdays, you can usually walk right in without much of a wait.
The manager came over and seemed to be questioning the legitimacy of where the hair was on the salad bowl. I told her that the hair ball was actually on top of the lettuce, and I reached down and picked it out to see what it was and placed it on the side of the bowl, then called the waitress.
The weird thing was, she proceeded to tell me that the kitchen staff all had dreadlocks and it wouldn’t have been their hair. Sorry, but it made more sense that the clump of hair would have come from someone with dreadlocks, totally disgusting…
The food was just OK. My New York strip was very thin – looked more like a pork chop but tasted ok after driving all day and was cooked to the correct temperature My old-fashioned was bad Literally a large quarter Slice of orange was placed on top of the ice cube, which would’ve made it impossible to drink the drink without removing the orange. The drink definitely had bourbon in it, but the combination of bitters and sugar was way off. I just drank it at this point as we just wanting to eat our steaks and leave.
I did not ask for nor did I receive any discount towards my meal. So other than a hairball in my salad, extremely bad old-fashioned drink and a cheap thin cut steak we had a nice dinner.
Visited Longhorn once more today and this time decided to try a New York Strip, 12 oz, served medium-rare. I also had mashed potatoes and housemade salad on a side. All was absolutely flavorful and delicious. The beef was exactly as I wished. Tender and juicy. Perfectly done.
2022:
Was today at the Longhorn and only thanks to that I came alone, I didn’t have to wait in a pretty long queue (roughly 10-12 persons were waiting outside) for a free table. I got a seat directly at the bar.
I had a big Blue Moon beer for a good start and then ordered Flo Filet 6 oz. with mashed potatoes and a house salad with honey mustard dressing. Salad was very good, so were the potatoes. But the steak… simply MARVELOUS!! Seventh heaven for me! Juicy and tender. Done just perfectly as I wanted it – that said a medium-rare. Loved it.
