This place is always delicious. I like to get their teriyaki chicken with rice and they have a huge variety of sushi rolls. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, fun vibe, and outdoor seating – but the price is a bit extreme for what you get.

We chose Mamasushi to celebrate my son’s birthday last Saturday. What should have been a special night turned into an embarrassing and disrespectful experience.
The server started off polite, took our order — and then disappeared. Our drinks never arrived. No one checked on us. We were completely ignored.
While we were still seated and planning to order dessert, we overheard a staff member say, “Get them out… I need that table.” On a child’s birthday. That was beyond unprofessional. Minutes later, the check was dropped with a rushed apology.
The bill included two drinks we never received. They removed them — but still added gratuity. Let’s be clear: gratuity reflects service. There was none.
We felt rushed out and insulted. First and last visit. I’ve already disputed the gratuity charge.
Do better.

Superb latin and japanese fusion spot. Really nice ambiance, has both indoor and outdoor seating. There are some very unique dishes. I ordered the 5 Tigueres signature sushi dish with a side of yuca fries. So delicious and packs a lot flavor! Service was great and had a great experience overall.

This location wasn’t like the others the vibe is a more later vibe than the others. I’m guessing because of the area. Overall cool spot it was the first one got way bigger than how it use to be. Still good staff is more strict on things I didn’t understand here but it was ok. Nothing to change the experience. The dj did play music for outside not inside that was a bit wired but also ok. The food is always great at mamasushi vibe was cool I would suggest going after 5 on a Sunday better atmosphere. Drinks was good no real brunch menu or special I think that’s a miss the one in the Bronx does offer brunch. But overall cool day

We are two international women who dined at Mamma Sushi this evening. While the food was excellent and the service was satisfactory throughout most of the meal, the conclusion of our experience was disappointing and inappropriate. At the end of the dinner, our server presented us with a credit card slip to sign but did not provide the itemized bill. I immediately found the total amount unusually high based on what we had ordered, so I politely requested the detailed receipt. Only then did he bring it over, claiming he thought it had been “inside,” which was clearly not the case. Upon reviewing the itemized bill, we discovered that an 18% gratuity had already been added, a detail the server seemed intent on concealing in the hope that we would add an additional tip on top of the one already imposed. This practice is misleading and unacceptable. I have lived in this neighborhood for 20 years, and although English is not my first language, I am neither unaware nor inexperienced. We signed the receipt including the 18% that was added without our prior notice, but I want to emphasize that such conduct is unfair and unprofessional. This is the second time this exact situation has occurred at your restaurant, and it is the reason I am writing this review today. He did not come get the receipt signed and waited until we left. The staff in the kitchen and the waiter looked at us from the kitchen area when we looked at them when we were leaving probably seeing we had understood they tried to make extra tips!! I sincerely hope management addresses this practice, as it compromises the trust and respect of loyal customers.

I ordered one spring roll and one California roll to-go—$28 total! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind spending money on good food, and I’ve eaten at plenty of quality sushi restaurants. But at most legit spots, a California roll runs about $10–11, and spring rolls around $8–9, even for the nicer versions.
Here? The prices are just way too high for what you get. I picked up the food and ran back to my car—only to open the box and realize it looked more like a kids’ meal. Seriously, the portion was tiny.
I did tip the waitress because that’s just what I do, but overall, this felt more like a place to grab a drink than to sit down for a satisfying sushi meal. Just a heads-up to anyone thinking of bringing their family here—definitely check the menu and prices first. A family of four could easily end up with a $$$$ bill.

I would like to preface this by saying that my partner and I have been ordering from/dining at this Mama Sushi for years, and the experience has ranged from okay to enjoyable – until last night. The service was REPREHENSIBLE the entire night, in every imaginable way (including messing up our order more than once and constantly disappearing on us).The lychee mojito, usually delicious, was undrinkable. The vegetables in the crazy vegetable roll (which I have been getting for years) had no tempura. The yellowtail roll was inedible. And the wait was long. The chicharron and chicken teriyaki were the only things that didn’t suck. Congratulations – You have lost two frequent customers. Why would we EVER spend money here again? It’s NOT cheap. Not worth it.
