It is a place you would miss if you were not looking for it. You will be disappointed in yourself for not stopping by and trying this place. I ordered the Nashville hot and was one of the best ones in town for sure. Onion rings on point and definitely will come back again and again. It is next to Manolia supermarket.

It was a spur of the moment order. We saw the sign once, and it was cute. Decided to order for a later night dinner pick up. The cashier was sweet and attentive when I arrived. The sandwiches , the western chick and the side chick were really good. We preferred the western out of the two the most as the bbq sauce and onion ring took it over the top. The special fries (can’t remember which it was, think it was the cali chick) were good. I like them alot. They were too spicy for my boyfriend but I thought they were perfect as this is total preference. We will be going back to try some of the skinny chick options (grilled vs fried) i recommend trying this place for sure.

This place is the real deal! The hot chicken sandwich was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of heat. The pickles added a great tangy bite, and that bun? Soft, buttery perfection. The fries were seasoned beautifully and had that perfect crunch. You can tell they care about quality here. Super satisfying meal and definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again. Highly recommend!

Side Chick in Southeast San Diego has grown so much since I’ve been back, and it’s been incredible to see. From the moment we walked in, Ms. Ariadna was especially welcoming and made the experience feel warm and familiar.
The hot tenders are still just as delicious. Trust me, don’t skip the honey mustard! The Cali Chick remains my go-to: flavorful, satisfying, and always scrumptious. Their menu has expanded so much since the early days, with plenty of new options to try. The onion rings were perfect and stayed crispy, and the chicken wings were also super yummy.
It’s so wonderful to hear how well they’re doing, not only at this location but also in Imperial Beach. Wishing them all the luck with their up-and-coming third location. Well deserved!

Los tenders picantes siguen igual de deliciosos — no se pierdan la “honey mustard”. El Cali Chick siempre es mi favorito. Probamos los “onion rings”, crujientes y perfectos, y las alitas, muy ricas también.
Qué alegría ver que les va tan bien aquí y en Imperial Beach. ¡Mucho éxito con la tercera ubicación que viene! Un gran saludo a Lalo y Javi, quienes han estado desde el principio

I hate that the use DoorDash for deliveries! I never got my order because DoorDash SUCKS!! But the crazy part is SIDE CHICK was responsible for the refund. The refund that I NEVER RECEIVED!!!! So I called them… Yeah I’m still waiting for that return call 2 weeks later!! It’s been over a month since this happened and still NO REFUND!! I can’t make this shit up!!! #LostAcustomer

They really do not want to sell you chicken here. Don’t even come. You will be turned away. They will tell you to interact with the menu on an iPad. The iPad also does not want to sell you chicken. It is virtually impossible to get chicken here unless you decide to jump over the counter and steal some of their chicken. No chicken has been transacted in my interaction with the store today. Tried this place for the first time. I even told the kid that it was the first time. Ordered the Western Chick, The Cali Chick, (asked for the avocado and tomato on the side,. They gave me 1 small avocado piece and 1 small tomato piece) $5 fries, large onion rings, 2 sides of coleslaw (I asked for the $3.00 ones and got the dollar ones I don’t even know why they would sell that it is a tablespoon worth), side of pickles ( 4 little pickle pieces), and 3 side strips. I also asked for 2 dipping sauces one Korean and one of their special sauce.
I waited over 10 minutes for the food (no problem) cost $46 gave them a few dollars tip. Got my food drove home 1 mile away and when I got home the first thing I tried were the fries. What a let down they were Limpy, cold and you could tell that they were the leftover scrapings because they had a bunch of chicken batter pieces and small burnt French fries. The rest of the food was tasty, The onion rings were hot and fresh. The sauces were just ketchup. Nothing more.
They nickel and dime you here. I called and talked to a half Manager and he apologized and sent me a e gift card which was absolutely useless.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I am white and they were Hispanic I honestly think that once they see a white person you will get the scrapings. My opinion.
If I could have used this E-Card I might have tried the place again just to see.
You can see below how the fries looked. The sauces I ordered were Bad-B sauce and Korean Chick sauce they gave me two ketchups. The Kid that took my order stapled the bag of food so I didn’t see all this until I got home.
I have tried to get ahold of the half Manager several times about giving me the E gift card he promised and it goes on deaf ears. This place is not worth your time or money.

My favorite chicken sandwich in town! I usually get the Side Chick or the Basic Chick sandwich and fries – the fries are amazing and they give you a huge amount with your order. Great value for the money too, better than Popeyes or KFC. Check them out, they’re a gem!
