Don’t know about the fake reviews from ‘anything spicy is authentic’ Minnesota reviewers – but here goes – this food is not Indian, the cooking area is sub par and unclean (just walk by it to go to the restroom). The restroom itself is 3rd world
Second, the food is sub par& doesn’t get refreshed (so potential reheats) – and the buffet charge is $12?? –
And service is pretty much geared to attract ‘non-indians’ and is expected poor to Indians. If you feel something sticky under the table – that is rotting food from a few days ago…

I stumbled upon Madras Cafe because I was hungry for Indian food and needed to find a place to do take out around the area. I knew there was a restaurant by Pooja Grocers. Turns out this place is newly opened, a different restaurant than the one I remembered. I went in and realized I was surrounded by Indians, which assured me that the food must be authentic! I was greeted by a friendly lady who was helpful with the menu (I’m not Indian and there were many dish names that were unfamiliar to me). The food was splendid though I did take out. It was reasonably priced with very reasonable portions. The palak paneer was possibly the most flavorful one I’ve ever tasted! The mutton Curry was perfect in tenderness and spice/flavor. I would definitely come back here again and bring my friends with next time :).

This place is very good. Owned by a nice couple, very friendly and personable. The garlic naan is so good! Traditionally made, not like other places where it’s just flatbread reheated with garlic glaze. I had the navrattan kurma, it was the perfect spice level and was very rich and savory. I look forward to trying the lunch buffet soon!
