The food is great but the coffee is disgusting! It seems like no one follows instructions when someone places an order. For starters, The coffee tastes like old coffee. No flavor shot added like I requested and it’s darker than the color brown, yet light and sweet was requested. I’m not sure who continues to do this but the next time, I will bring the entire order back personally.

We have never stopped by this little cafe in the decade we have been in JCty even though we had their gelato a few times at a fair. Place is quaint and reminds me a little dinette. We ordered a flat white, tea and a breakfast burrito at the counter then sat at one of the tables. The coffee and tea came out pretty quickly but they forgot the milk and I had to go to the counter.
We waited another 30 minutes and no burrito. We went up to the desk, the (2) cashiers seemed confused and then said they would check. No ‘sorry this is running late’. Another 15 went by until we finally received the burrito. Still no ‘sorry it took so long’.
Although the burrito was good – fresh and packed with ingredients and the tea and coffee were very strong and tasty, we will never come back here with the lack of courtesy or blase attitude

The Rapunzel Effect
The food was decent but the service. Lord had mercy. The girl in the front is so rude. No greeting and then she doesn’t give you updates on the food. I was waiting for like 45 mins for one sandwich and I was the only person in the place. No updates nothing. I left and then came back and it still wasn’t ready and she didn’t acknowledge me. I had to ask how long so I could just get a refund and leave. Ended up waiting a few more minutes.

This is my new favorite place to come to. They food is always good and the service is great as well. They also have games you can play as well. I brought my niece for the first time and we had a great time eating food and playing Uno. I’ll definitely recommend.

Breakfast restaurant located in Jersey City. We’ve been there in a Saturday morningb and had a great experience. The place has a welcoming atmosphere and there were tables available. Staff was so lovely with us! And the food is great, delicious and with a fair price. We’ll be back for sure!

I really, really want to love Gia Gelato Cafe — I loved, loved, loved the place under the previous owners and was a regular here. for months now I have been trying to become a regular again. But now, while the staff is friendly and I like them and I really do want to love the place, the food is never really cooked properly and the service is slow. After many repeated tries, I think I may have to admit to myself this is no longer the place for me. They NEVER toast the toast — only slightly warm and dry our some pieces of bread and they most often don’t provide butter for the toast (though if you ask for it they will bring some. They often don’t cook bacon well enough either. I just recently had the breakfast quesadilla and it was cold. I don’t mean it just wasn’t hot and only a little warm. I mean it was cold. So cold the shredded cheese didn’t melt at all and some of the bacon was actually 100% raw. It’s like the cook/chef is afraid to actually cook things. Also depending on who is there the service is slow. The staff is SUPER nice, but hardly speedy and some seem not quite on-the-ball. I am very sad to say this is not nearly the place it used to be a few years ago. Such a shame — but basic cooking skills and speed of service are key to whether a place is good or not — and this place struggles in both areas.

Their breakfast platters on Saturdays are extremely delicious!!! However, I tried ordering from here on Uber eats and everything was great EXCEPT for the coffee!! You guys have to read where it says “Special Instructions” when it comes to coffee. If light and sweet is requested, it should be followed. Black coffee just doesn’t do it for me.

I ordered from them one day on Uber eats, I was so impressed with the food and presentation! It’s soooo fresh, today I decided to go down there and check it out myself I got take out and to my surprise, when I got home and opened my food the avacado toast had tomatoes and onions on it. It was so delicious! I think they didn’t have too much avacado left so they substituted to make it more full. This place is deff gonna be on my top for breakfast for a while thank you!
UPDATE: The owners have changed but the food and service is still very homey. I walked there on a cold and rainy day, it was super warm and cozy. The ladies that work there are so sweet and sell Argentina Cookies they’re so amazing. I had a ham and cheese croissant and a chai latte, both super delicious as always. They didn’t have Gelato this time but there’s always so many other delicious options.
