Don’t order takeout here. Every single time we order, our order is wrong. Every. Single. Time. For years.
If you go in person, know that almost all of the dishes have mushrooms even if not advertised. We ordered beef lasagna and it has layers of mushrooms in it which we were not aware of. We assumed if you ordered beef lasagna with meat sauce that beef would be in it but we’re told differently.
This household is not mushroom people.
The bread is also very sad. Pictures attached. Hard and crusty.
We’ve tried so hard to support this business but they keep giving us reasons not to.

I love Scalini’s and I can’t count the number of times my wife and I have been there. It is the most charming and reasonably priced restaurant in Dallas and the food is delicious. I can’t say enough nice things about Scalini’s, so please go there yourself and enjoy this little gem of a neighborhood restaurant!

I’ve been a customer here several times and I usually order the same pasta. I’m allergic to mushrooms, but in the past I’ve just picked them out. Since it had been a while since I last ordered, I asked if the pasta came with mushrooms and was told that it did not.
When I received my order, it did in fact have mushrooms in it. I had planned to share the meal with my daughter, who is also allergic, but her allergy is more severe than mine, so this was concerning.
When the manager got on the phone, he told me that I had ordered it before and never had an issue. I explained that I normally pick the mushrooms out, but that I specifically asked beforehand this time. His response was “Okay, so what do you want me to do?” I said “I guess nothing?” because I was honestly surprised to be asked that instead of being offered a solution.
He said he marked my account to never put mushrooms on anything in the future, which I appreciate, but the interaction felt awkward and dismissive. As someone who has worked in the food industry before, I would have expected a manager to offer to remake the food or provide some kind of solution, especially when allergies are involved.
It’s disappointing because I really liked this place but the way the situation was handled left a bad impression and I unfortunately won’t be returning 🙁

The food was amazzzing and it wasn’t super expensive. I had the combo with lasagna, spaghetti, and ravioli so I can taste everything and it was amazing!!! For the appetizer we had toasted ravioli and the cheese pull was so stringy. The staff was so nice and they were full of great energy! Definitely a place I recommend and I will definitely be eating there again!

Today was my first visit with my best friend that goes often. Unfortunately this was my first and last time there. Our waiter was wonderful, however our waitress assisting our waiter was very unprofessional. My friend’s food was incorrect and when she requested it be corrected politely the waitress was rude to her and was openly sarcastic almost provoking a reaction. She got into an uncomfortable verbal exchange with my friend as she paid for her meal. I am appalled by the treatment and will not ever step into this resteraunt again.

I have been dining at this exceptional Italian restaurant several times, and it has always been an absolute delight. The decor is quaint and creates a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable meal. The food, reasonably priced, is served in generous portions, ensuring you’ll leave fully satisfied. The service is attentive and makes the experience all the more enjoyable. But the true highlight is the dishes themselves – everything is flavorful and a true testament to the Italian palette . I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone in search of a happily repeatable dining experience. Will be coming back for their crab claws, house salad, and the shrimp & penne pasta again.
