This is my favorite chocolatier in the world – beautifully crafted bars and candies, reasonable prices. Perfect as gifts for every taste and occasion. I gave the Peanut Butter cups assortment last year to a friend and he said it ‘redefined the pbc experience’ for him. I’m partial to the Dark-Milk for my sweet tooth, but I buy bars for everyone I care about here. The strawberry/cranberry/nibs bar is beautiful and delicious. There are samples of nearly everything, and you can’t go wrong with any selection in the store. Friendly & helpful staff always.

When you enter, both of the people working there ask if you would like a free hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is amazing, and you can always come back for more, free of charge. I loved watching a family with 3 kids come in, when the kids realized they could get free hot chocolate with whipped cream and/or marshmallows, they got so excited like it was the best Christmas gift of all. The whole place was full of free samples, you could try a sample of every product they had! (That’s a lot of samples). The staff are very friendly and love talking with customers. I highly recommend this place and will come back soon for more free hot chocolate.

Supremely delicious chocolate. Everything is so good. They have samples available of everything and are super friendly in encouraging you to try things. I’d be bankrupt if I lived closer to this place. Expensive but very fancy. Get the smores!

Chocolate lovers must buy their products from this local Peruvian business. Not only does their chocolate bars retain the cocoa butter instead of icky soy, they know how to make their chocolate goodies smooth and beautiful. We met the owner who was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the samples and of course we left with a bag of goodies. I believe we have a winner here for the next round of Christmas presents for everyone. Now that I’m spoiled with real chocolate from Hawaii and now from Peru, there’s no need to buy at the local grocery store. They have a dark milk chocolate that will satisfy the picky eaters that won’t try dark chocolate. It’s sweet and not tart at all. We had the peanut and chocolate covered marshmellow confections and they were delicious. I don’t prefer marshmellows, but theirs doesn’t taste like overly sweet cheap ones. My favorites are the Mango Chili and the Quinoa Chia bars. I will probably get the Blueberry ones next. Make sure to go home with their hot cocoa mix at at least a couple bars. The price for a fabulous bar is so reasonable. We will be back to try the other confections. Thank you for bringing your craft here and supporting the farmers back in Peru.

Lovely lil’ neighborhood shop in our neighborhood! Husband and I enjoyed authentic hot chocolate on the benches right outside the shop on a beautiful sunny fall day. Had a pleasant with the person at the counter who told us about the sourcing of the cacao from Peru. Purchased two different kinds of chocolates — some of the best we’ve had in a while with dates and almonds. Will be back for more!

Great Chocolate is getting harder and harder to find. Fortunato chocolate is a gem. You can sample everything and they give out free hot chocolate. My favorites are the dark chocolate bar with orange and blueberries, the mango ginger bites and the dark chocolate mango bites. You really can’t go wrong.

My oh my! One of the best places I’ve ever reviewed. The hot chocolate here really is free, and it is the best. Probably the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Strolled into the shop a little skeptical, and I was immediately welcomed by a tremendously friendly trio of people who described the history of this operation. Wish I remembered everything (you’ll have to go there and ask!), but they found this cocoa in Peru and still source from there. Very interesting—these folks know their stuff! They have some European chocolate-making expertise as well. On top of the hot chocolate, and on top of the whipped cream on top of the hot chocolate, they let me sample a host of actual solid chocolate (they had 20+ jars). Back to the diet tomorrow, hopefully, until I’m back in Issaquah. Goodness, goodness, goodness, what a treat :]

Wonderful local chocolate shop. The three owners travel to Peru often to buy their own cocoa beans, have them fermented and processed in a local Peruvian co-op, ship them to Switzerland to be turned into bulk chocolate, then ship the chocolate to Issaquah where they make all their own chocolate bars, dipped fruit, nut clusters, and inclusions. They make about 40 different chocolate confections. The owners greet every customer personally, and share their story and their enthusiasm for what they are doing. Everyone gets a free cup of hot chocolate. You can sample any or all of their products for free. By the time you are done, you feel you want to give them your money and buy lots of chocolate, partly to support the good things they are doing and partly because the chocolates are delicious. I highly recommend you visit and support this local business, you will enjoy it!

I had the weirdest experience here today. I came in and ordered two chocolates and a cup of cocoa. The employee poured the cocoa and boxed up the chocolates, but when I tried to pay, their WiFi was down so the system wouldn’t process my card. I tried two different (working) cards and even offered to use Venmo, but she said no.
We then stood there awkwardly for about 10 minutes while she kept trying the same thing, but didn’t really acknowledge that the system clearly wasn’t working or suggest an alternative. Eventually I said I guess we should just go, and she didn’t offer to let us take the cocoa that had already been poured.
It just felt odd, this was clearly a system issue on their end, and a little flexibility or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Very strange experience overall. Hopefully they get their system back up and running soon.

Amazing! Looking for chocolate? Need a unique gift? Want a treat? Seeking special chocolate for a special recipe? Oh em gee! Must visit! I also appreciate being able to hear the story of this chocolate, where it is from, how it all came about, etc. Want to know? Just ask. Oh, and they can sample you some hot chocolate or a taste of their chocolate bits in case you are unsure. Love, love, love this place and their products!!
