I highly recommend this place if you are craving for some good authentic Afghani food. Service can be on the slower side so be patient. I ordered kabuli pulao, lamb tikka, beef qorma, rasmalai ice cream and mantu.. Everything had solid 10/10 taste. The Rasmalai ice cream completely blew me away. It was rich, creamy and full of flavor. Mantu was finger-licking good as well. They also have milk tea which was good. Chicken might not be hand slaughtered if you only eat hand slaughter halal chicken. All in all, a great experience and Humayon is a wonderful host!!

My boyfriend and I just ate here for the second time. Both times have been amazing. Today we tried the mantu and the combo plate, which were both so delicious that we couldn’t stop raving about it while we were eating. Everything has always been incredibly delicious and fresh. The meat is cooked perfectly, and everything has the most delicious flavors, even the rice by itself. You can tell that the cook thinks about how to make each item declious, and thinks about how they all taste together. The portions are definitely worth the price paid. This just might be my new favorite place to eat in Modesto! As a foodie/fattie, I highly recommend this place!

We were visiting Modesto, and needed to eat some food. We were near by the Kabul Express restaurant. We always try to support local businesses. So walked in and there a loud Indian music playing. We looked at their menu and ordered our food. Couple of issues with this restaurant:
1. Very loud and unpleasant Indian music which was annoying.
2. Very careless customer service.
3. When brought our food to the table, the staff never came by to ask if everything was ok. Very unprofessional!
4. The food portion was very small compared to other restaurants. Sala was full of onions.
5. Taste was not that great at all.
6. Hospitality is zero. This place needs to learn how to take care of it customers.
Never recommend this place to anyone.

The food here is VERY delicious and very authentic. It’s very high-quality and tasty. The Mantu, the Bolani, the daal, chicken kabob, soup , everything we had was very tasty and did not disappoint. They also make the bread themselves which is very delicious and fresh. They also make their own yogurt and sauces. Everything is made from scratch and authentic.

I stopped by today and asked for Bolani Gandana — they said they didn’t have it. Then I asked for Lamb Tikka Kebab — again they said they didn’t have it. At this point it felt like a joke. A restaurant should at least have the basic items on their menu.
On top of that, the tables were dirty with food leftovers everywhere, and this was at 4:00 PM, not even a busy hour. It was honestly a disappointing experience.
I always try to support and promote local businesses, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place at all — except Kabul Express Restaurant, which continues to maintain great quality and service.

This is a wonderful place to eat.I like the combo plate with a nice glass of doogh. I also get a cup of tea with my meal it’s very refreshing. I also liked the chopped veggies that are on the side.They are always fresh. The food tastes very authentic and the service is always impeccable. This is the best halal restaurant in modesto, two thumbs way up.

Food is really good and clean. Very simple menu but it works. Creative dishes like kitani burger and they have pizza, too. Be prepared to wait because it is made to order and that’s because good food takes time.
