We first visited Mr. Outrageous at the Old North State Food Hall in Selma. The service was great. There were two young ladies working behind the counter that day, and they were friendly and welcoming. My husband and I decided to play it safe since it was our first time, so we shared a chicken cheesesteak with fries. I ordered the watermelon lemonade, and my husband got the mango lemonade. Everything was really good. The food was fresh, flavorful, and made to order. We were so happy we chose it for our lunch that day.
We actually found out about Mr. Outrageous after seeing a TikTok video that his daughter posted about the restaurant, and the food looked amazing. It definitely lived up to the hype.
A little while later, we visited the second location at the Carolina Outlet Mall right next to Auntie Anne’s. We also learned that Mr. Outrageous has a food truck, which is awesome. This time, we had the chance to meet the owner in person, and he was great. Very nice, down to earth, and personable. We chatted for a bit, and he mentioned plans to expand the menu, so there are even more good things to look forward to.
This time we ordered a bit more and dined in. We had a cheeseburger with fries, and I added a few jalapeños to mine. My husband ordered the fried ribs, and we also got a side of chicken wings. We both had the lemonade again, and once again, everything was delicious. The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor.
I’ve only been living in this area for about two months, and I really wish I had discovered this place sooner. It would have saved me so much time and money because I had been traveling to Raleigh trying to find good food, but most of those places were overhyped. Mr. Outrageous truly delivers.
As a side note, the owner let us try a sample of the fried fish. Fish is not currently on the menu, and it has not been confirmed if it ever will be, but I truly hope it is added one day. The fish was excellent, honestly the best I have ever eaten fried in a restaurant. My husband could not stop talking about it. The owner cooked two pieces for us, one with a cornmeal batter and one with a different style, possibly a tempura batter. Both were seasoned perfectly and didn’t need any tartar sauce or sides. The flavor stood on its own. If he ever adds fish to the menu, I would probably be there at least twice a week.
We’ll definitely be regular customers from now on. We even have family coming to visit in December, and we can’t wait to bring them here. I feel like we didn’t just find a great local restaurant, but also made a new friend.

The Smithfield location: Everything here was sooo good. The burgers were cooked just right, fries were crispy & seasoned to perfection. The hand squeezed lemonade & cheese cake were the bomb! The staff were very polite & accommodating. I literally have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I love it here!

It’s actually 4.5 only cuz the back corner could Def host a karaoke night lol but otherwise props to the owner! He is friendly, outgoing, slings a delicious burger like it’s nothing, and to top it all off this person makes their own cheesecakes!! Well Def be back and bringing my family. Didn’t have a chance to take a picture of the Ox burger before it was devoured sadly but here’s a picture of the Reeces cheesecake.

This is the second time we stopped by just to visit Mr. Outrageous and have been very pleased both times!
First Visit: We got the famous oxtail burger and absolutely drooled over it — so flavorful and juicy.
Second Visit: We tried the Cowboy Burger, added coleslaw, and were just as satisfied!
Sides: I strongly recommend the tater tots over the fries — extra crispy and delicious.
Heads up: The sandwiches are huge! Easily shareable between two people if you’re getting a side or something extra.
I would definitely return again and again, and I’d love to try out their food truck one day as well.
Side note: I know this may sound silly, but I really appreciated the small gesture — when I asked for a to-go box, the lady included a red and white wax sheet liner inside. It helped keep the food neat and clean for the trip home. 🙂

I come here at least once a month and have never been disappointed. The food and atmosphere is amazing, and the customer service is very impressive. They go beyond to make sure your food is great and you feel like family. Anyone that comes to the Carolina Outlets needs to make this a stop.

Last night, my family and I were shopping at Carolina Premium Outlets and discovered a hidden gem right beside Auntie Anne’s. The food was immaculate and incredibly fresh, and we spent only around $45! Which was more than enough to feed my spouse, our kids, and me.
The oxtail burger was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The Honey Buffalo sandwich was also excellent, and that says a lot because I usually don’t even like chicken sandwiches. My kids loved the classic hot dog meals, and the lemonade was to die for.
The owner was there and was very welcoming and conversational, which made the experience even better. Definitely give this place a try!

I had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Outrageous at the Carolina Outlets with my family, and the experience was phenomenal from start to finish. I even got to meet Marquis, the owner, and his energy and passion for his business truly show in the food and the atmosphere.
The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and served with care. Every bite was full of taste, and it’s clear they put pride into what they do. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!

The oxtail burger, chicken sandwich, and the bacon ranch burger. Juicy, tender and full of flavor. The banana pudding cheesecake and flavored lemonade is a must as well. Our people did there big one on this hidden gem. Catch them at their new location at Smithfield Outlet or at the Old Northstate food mall or even book their food truck at your next event. Support them they need a free standing location near You!

I had the oxtail burger and it was absolutely amazing!! My husband had the bacon cheeseburger and he is extremely particular. He commented several times on how well seasoned his burger was. The meat quality was superb and the flavor is above board. Everything was cooked when ordered which is just great. Hot and fresh. I will definitely be back here to try the entire menu.

The Oxtail Burger was everything my family and I expected and MORE! The lemonade was out of this world and a perfect match with anything on the menu. It was perfectly seasoned and tender oxtail on a juicy burger and not only was the food exceptional but so was the friendly staff and service right before closing on a Sunday night! This place should have a line out the door every night for this dream of a duo. We will be back many many times to enjoy the oxtail burger and hope everyone else takes the time to enjoy it as well!
