Place is clean and not too busy. Staff was polite.
Ordered their lunch special, price was decent $12 including a milk tea or coffee, typical of HK style tea restaurant, but no soup included.
They didn’t provide water or plain tea, have to ask them. They brought 1 glass over (there were 2 of us). Had to ask for a 2nd glass.
Ordered Portuguese style chicken rice and spicy pork chop rice. Lunch special.
Pork chop rice was fine, chop was tender and flavour was good, portion not generous.
But the chicken rice was something else, the flavourless chicken (although tender) was covered with some yellow custard looking cornstarch sauce. Absolutely zero flavour. I had to ask for soy sauce to add to the dish. The table only had sugar and a jar of chili sauce.
When I went up to pay, another customer was also complaining about the Portuguese chicken rice, he ordered the same thing, and said it tasted funny.
There are a few other similar restaurants in the Mississauga area that have way better HK style tea restaurant food ( such as Phoenix and Hawaii).
Won’t be returning.
Chef needs to test recipes first before serving customers or just don’t try anything that is not their expertise.
Incredible lunch today of noodles and baked rice but the star of the show was definitely the deep fried salted egg bitter melon! This it’s probably the best that we have ever had. Even though the dish was sitting out for a good 20 minutes it stayed crispy and was perfectly seasoned. They did not skimp on the salted egg!
I just found out this morning that these guys also do breakfast and it was awesome! I ordered an XO sauce 豬腸粉 and a luncheon meat, sunny side up egg and buttered toast combo. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The rice rolls were served piping hot with lots of wok hei!! My new favorite HK style breakfast spot in Mississauga!
First time coming here to do afternoon tea and they have an extensive menu has pretty much everything under $10 and comes with a drink. The beef brisket soup noldle was referenced standard. Silky soft noodles and tender brisket. Shredded pork with pickled vegetable soup vermicelli was also on point. Both of these dishes came with soy milk to wash it all down. Delicious and great value for that afternoon pick me up you are looking for! Customer service as always is fast and friendly! Always happy to welcome you back to their restaurant!
After the change in ownership and renovations a while back. I found myself coming back here many times. I call this restaurant a “Triple Threat” because I can come here to satisfy my breakfast, lunch and dinner cravings. This is a rarity.
The food is way better than before in my opinion and the service here has always been friendly and efficient. There are not many classic HK cafe restaurants in Mississauga ever since the old Hollywood Cafe closed down many years ago in the same plaza.
So I really enjoy their dishes with a HK milk tea both cold and hot, or a yin yang coffee etc.
The prices and the portions are very reasonable and I cannot ask for anything more because they satisfy my cravings.
I like to support our local businesses and the hardworking owners .
They get 5 stars from me .
Wow. This location has been around for years and years. Therefore, they have plenty of loyal and return customers. They were so popular for their classic HK breakfast with a newspaper before the pandemic. So the mornings can be busy there.

I have never had an issue with their service. It has always been efficient and effective whether I call to order on the phone or in person.
During these times now, they prefer you to call or order online before arriving in person. So COVID protocols are in effect here.
The food is what I or anyone should expect at these prices. Their portions and apparent freshness are a bit below other restaurants. However, I still cannot complain about the taste or flavour. I like their food.
And they do offer such a wide variety of dishes. And they are able to cook them quickly whenever you want it.
So all in all, I am happy with their food experience in general. And I have returned many times over the past two decades.
This is a double right down the left field gap !!!
Try it yourselves and let us know what your thoughts are.
Very unprofessional. If you can’t fulfill the order, don’t confirm it. If you confirm it, don’t cancel 1 hour before. It was a work party. Needless to say everyone at the work party will know Star Fast Food is an unreliable restaurant and will not be ordering from them again. Just lost many customers.
Tried a few times now. First time had the salted fish chicken fried rice and baked pork chop rice. Both are superb, and you can see the portion is huge too. We love both of these dishes.
Then we tried the beef stir fried noodles as well, classic in hk cha chaan teng. That was really good too. It wasn’t overly oily, portion was big too, taste is on point for sure!
And another time, we decided to try some other dishes, had fok kien fried rice, baked mix sauce rice, Singapore fried noodles, curry fishballs and french toast. Singapore fried noodles was good, french toast was great too though it would have been better if it was still warm, so I think that will be something to eat in the restaurant than takeout. Curry fishballs are not like those you get in hk, texture is off. And the other two dishes, the fok kien fried rice and baked mix sauce rice with shrimp and chicken, both these dishes were just okay. Wouldn’t really reorder these again.
So conclusion must try their baked pork chop rice, salted fish chicken fried rice and the beef stir fry noodles, these three are our favourites so far! If you happen to dine in, then get the french toast.
