I think Capside Kitchen is a bit of an underrated gem on a not busy day. I had two different experiences when I went.
On Saturday, we tried to get breakfast around 11:00 am. We had walked in a side door near the Main Street and church. We weren’t immediately seated, but eventually we got a table. The service was slow, took almost 10 – 15 minutes to get menus and drinks. We had put our food in and waited almost an hour overall to hear nothing from any of the staff/hostesses. We ended up leaving after only getting some drinks.
I went myself on Monday morning for breakfast. The place was nearly empty and I was able to get service within 5 minutes of getting there. The woman who took my order was friendly and the wait wasn’t too long at all. I took my food to go and it traveled very well. It had a good flavor, I just wish the home fries had a little more spice or seasoning. Otherwise, no other complaints.
I think overall the place is good. Sadly, due to the weekend crowds and staffing it might be a little too busy for some people and they may share a similar experience if they choose to go. I would say that yes it sucks, but it isn’t unheard of in places that have a lot of tourism. If you can overlook the maybe slow service and slower communication, it might be worth the trip to check it out. I would recommend going on the weekday to have the best experience.

Sweet little breakfast spot. Very relaxed environment, great place if you’re looking to hang out over coffee and breakfast because there is NO RUSH here lol. Some people seemed to be annoyed by the slow flow but I quite enjoyed it! Made for a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Great food as well!

Their Yelp page says they have many vegetarian options, which usually is a good sign, meaning that even a vegan can go in and find something that can be modified to be vegan. So I had a very interesting conversation with the young waitress. When we asked for a dairy-free creamer for our coffee, she said they had none. But after a pause, she said, “Wait, is almond milk dairy-free?” Yes, so score one for them on that. When I asked for any vegan thing the cook could make, use their imagination, I didn’t care what it was as long as it was vegan, she went and conversed with the cook. She came back to say all they could offer was a fruit cup. I guess I must have been the very first vegan to ever enter the establishment, so I had to have another conversation with the waitress. “Well, you have vegetables because you put them in other dishes, right? And you have potatoes, right? Can’t you just saute some veggies and plop them on a plate, and give me a side of hash browns or home fries, whatever you call them?” “Yes.” Ok then, we were off to the races! And that’s exactly what I got, sauteed veggies on a plate (they listed it as a Vegetable Bowl for $5.96 on the bill) and home fries on the side. Good enough! So vegans, be ready to have some interesting convos with the staff, or settle for the fruit cup! LOL

Had one of the worst dining experiences for breakfast here. It was very evident the lack of leadership and management. It took so long for anyone to come over to the table and even say hi and they were verbalizing being understaffed. The young girls working looked lost, and despite being “understaffed”, they did not even try to make the customers feel better. When we finally ordered waitress ended up losing our ticket and had to re-take our order 15 minutes later. We ended up waiting over an hour for our food and nothing came out together- one of us finished eating before the other two got their food. People who came after us were done way before us. We witnessed about 4 other tables walk out due to frustration. One couple asked to speak to a manager and the supposed owner in the kitchen did not come out to speak to them. The poor young girl waiting on us was sweet and we felt bad there was no clear management to help them. One of my friends had a dirty butter knife dropped on her when a young boy was walking by with dirty plates, and he didn’t even realize. One of our food orders was messed up and the waitress did comp the meal, however, will never come back to this establishment because it is clearly run very badly.

Really gross food. The eggs Benedict came out and the eggs were watery, the holindase sauce was clumpy, the Canadian bacon was cold and tastes like it had just been pulled out of the fridge and slapped on. You could tell the servers knew the food was bad and still served it because they actually came over and asked if we thought anything was wrong with the food before we’d taken a bite. With such a high rating I had high hopes for this place. The waffles in the photos aren’t even on the menu.

An absolute disgrace of an establishment. As we walked in, multiple tables had decided to get up and leave. We decided to give it a try. We had to seek out a waitress after 15 minutes just to get a water. It was another 15 minutes before she took our order. We waited AN HOUR before being told that the kitchen was running behind. Still no update on our food. This has to be the most poorly run restaurant in the WESTERN HEMISPHERE. Don’t waste your time here. Have a nice weekend everyone.

I had breakfast at this restaurant this morning, and it was absolutely horrible! We waited quite awhile to order and then almost an hour for our food. There was only one waitress working at the time for the entire restaurant. I ordered French Toast and it was absolutely awful! It tasted as though it was from the freezer section at the local grocery store and then just heated up in the microwave. We were told the iced tea was fresh brewed, but I’m not convinced it was as it had a horrible taste. The food and the iced tea were practically inedible. We left hungry and very disappointed and dissatisfied. I would definitely NOT recommend this place…you’d be better off going up the street to Dunkin Donuts!

The food was amazing and the staff made you feel like home. Did I mention the food? Great place for breakfast in Harwich Port.

Not sure what’s happened, since my last visit. Food, while okay, was barely warm and somewhat sparse
Our bill did not match the prices presented on menu. After two attempts it was corrected, with an explanation of the equipment and computer not working properly, and a service tech being called in. The waitress was pleasant, really only good thing I took away from experience.

No AC, pricing was different from the menu, the food was awful. I had Irish Egg Benedict & I swear the hash was slopped straight from the can. It was so salty & not cooked, that I couldn’t eat it. Price said 15.99 & I was charged $24.99!! Waitress said owner hadn’t replaced old menus with new pricing which is total neglect on his part. I explained the price on menu is what she should be charging, she apologized & only comped us for the coffee. We will NEVER go back. Sorry I didn’t read the reviews before we went in. $45.00 for 2 breakfast meals!?!? No way.
