I came to visit my mom from Savannah, GA. My mom lives in Kings Mountain not far from this place, but this place was amazing! Starting the minute we walked in, the service was welcoming. We had Meredith as our waitress and she was friendly, attentive, and recommended the best appetizer (ahi tuna tacos) – delicious! The chef they have is top tier. I ordered the grilled salmon and my mom had the pork chop. The first taste was exquisite I definitely recommend for anyone who wants to have a nice dinner with great service and food!

This place is amazing. I read other reviews and was nervous, I emailed for reservations and received a response almost immediately then a couple of hours before our 6pm reservation I called to see if we could move it to 5pm and they were extremely accommodating. We arrived at 5pm and were immediately greeted by a sweet young lady that showed us to our table, brought us water and bread. Our waitress, Meredith, was very attentive and our cocktails were made quickly and perfectly. Our food was amazing. My husband had the trout and I had the snapper. We decided to stay for another cocktail and desert, offered to move to the bar so we weren’t taking up a table and were told to take as long as we would like at the table. The creme Brulé was delicious. Atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Live guitarist played softly. Chatted with locals at the table beside us that come every weekend. Just a wonderful evening!

Great food. I really enjoyed the tomato basil soup. My husband liked his ribeye. Drinks were ok. Disappointed that a 20% gratuity was included on our bill when we received it. I prefer to reward service on my own rather than have it forced on me. So although we enjoyed it, we likely won’t be back. Sorry.

We are new to Shelby and came to Bistro 214 for Valentine’s Day. Everything is was great. Of course they were pretty busy because of the holiday but all of the food was amazing. Steak was perfect, and everything was at a very reasonable cost, with pretty quick service. I am sure we will be back!

Wonderful place. Great date night vibes. Lowkey but with warm atmosphere, great menu and specials. Our server SUE was so warm, welcoming and helpful. Had a potsticker appetizer, then i ordered the 12oz ribeye, med rare , my partner had the pecan crusted trout. Each came as a large plate with sweer or mashed potatoes and garlic creamed spinach. Not a spec left on our plates. SUE was attentive without being obtrusive. Live music playing lowkey. All in all, good food and service. Small kitchen so you will need to wait as expected. Best meal i have had for many moons. When in Shelby I will return.

Wife and I just had our Valentines Day dinner and it was excellent! We didn’t get the dinner special but we had the chicken and the salmon and both were outstanding! Mashed potatoes were awesome! Service was fast and friendly. Thanks for a great dinner!

The food here is absolutely amazing. If you are lucky to get the Bronzino … do it. The trout special this week was amazing. Always outstanding food and atmosphere!! My daughter had the seafood chowder and it too is highly recommended. Our favorite high end place to dine!!!

Bistro 214 is our absolute favorite restaurant anywhere. The food, service and atmosphere is top notch. I used to travel globally in my career and no matter where I went, Europe, China, Canada, Mexico and all across the US this is the restaurant I looked forward to coming back to. I have a French coworker from Paris that I brought there and he was very impressed with the food quality and the atmosphere. He always asked when we could go back there. The staff, Sue, Meredith and all, treat everyone like family and we are never rushed when we’re there. If you want to great dining experience, Bistro 214 is it. Friday and Saturday evenings they have a fabulous guitar player that really adds to the atmosphere, not too loud but great background music. You will want to go back there once you leave! Love the place.

We have been to this restaurant many times. Excellent food. They cannot be matched by another restaurant within a 20 mile radius. The steaks are to die for ESPECIALLY when the compound butter is available. Sue is often our server and is always pleasant and constantly checking on us! 10/10 recommend !
