I hate to describe poor service in this industry. You never know the “why” behind it. Are they short-staffed? Is it hard to find help? Is the management poor? Do people just not care? But I will in this case because someone has to. I dread visiting this location in Winterset. Even using the mobile app for efficiency does nothing to speed things up. When I arrive my order is never ready and it’s always missing items. The staffing seems lean. One morning 1 gal was the only employee there. She was doing her best and still lashed out at me when I tried to give her encouragement. This morning the young man handed me my oatmeal through the window without it being placed in a bag and said thank you as if our transaction was complete. No bag, no spoon, no apples, cranberries or raisins. Just a bowl of oatmeal. When I asked for these items, he got them one by one. He brought the apples, but not the rest which I had to ask for again. Then he brought the cranberries and raisins. I again had to ask for a spoon, a bag and the napkins. After 5-6 trips for each item individually I was at a loss. Whoever owns this location needs to anonymously visit. You have no idea what is occurring at this place. At all.

This McDonalds is a pretty new location. Nice looking building and outside grounds.
Plenty of parking and good amount of handicap parking.
Inside the floor is dirty with foot prints all over. Food on the floor tables and seating not clean. I was in the facility for breakfast from 9am till almost 10am.
No staff ever cleaned a table or picked up food off the floor. It is just not clean! Like they are under staffed or they don’t care or maybe both?
I ordered a well done big breakfast – it took 17 minutes and only the eggs were well done. The ticket clearly shows the well done big breakfast designation.
No honey or jelly out or given for the biscuit. I had to ask for it. Also , there is no fountain to get your own drink or refill it. ?!
Staff seemed a bit over worked.

Edit: I threw away my receipt so i can’t leave a complaint on the website you provided bc i don’t have the store number. I really wish businesses would address these things over Google instead of sending people to their website and never responding to them.
I placed an order on the app and wait 20 minutes in line and then my order was missing something. For the love if you are the manager on duty your job should be spot checking all orders going out thru the driver thru. We go thru the drive thru bc we don’t want to get out of our car. 2 people walked in bc their orders were wrong when I was walking out. Smh

I ordered some fries and this restaurant was out of salt. The manager/crew member stated he wanted to charge me to use the salt shaker they use in the back, which is ridiculous. I’ll never eat at this store again. How is a store like McDonald’s out of salt. What nobody can reach out to another store to get some….

Don’t bother going in to order here. It took over 20 minutes for our order to be brought out to us. This was at 8 pm at night on a Tuesday. If there had been anyone available, I would have canceled my order. If I’m going to wait that long for my food, I’m not going to go to a “fast food” place.

I have called multiple times today and no one answers. I specifically requested my children’s meals be prepared a certain way due to severe allergies and yet even though it was repeated back and on the receipt it was still prepared incorrectly. Thankfully I learned to check their food before they touch it. Extremely disappointed.
