Reviews
LA Prime is amazing. The views, service, atmosphere, and staff are fantastic. The food is so delicious and fresh.
HOT STARTER
I had the traditional escargot in shell with maître d’hôtel butter. The butter flavor is so delicious. It is butter mixed with finely chopped parsley, lemon juice, and garlic. I love escargot, and many high-end restaurants in Los Angeles don’t serve it. So when I saw LA Prime, I was like, ” Oh man, I am getting that and I’m glad I did.
Signature Steaks
For the signature steaks, I got the 10-ounce filet mignon au poivre, brandy peppercorn sauce. I got it rare. Omg that was so delicious. The steak is so tender it melts in your mouth. The au poivre sauce was tasty. It adds flavors to the steak. It is made with crushed peppercorns, cream, and brandy, adding a bold and spicy kick to your dish.
Sides
For the sides, I got almost everything. The crispy Brussels sprouts with sage, hazelnuts, preserved lemon, and Parmesan. The Yukon gold-loaded mashed potatoes, smoked bacon, cheddar, and callions. The baby spinach in Parmesan cream sauce. The macaroni and Vermont white cheddar cheese au gratin, and the farm-fresh asparagus spears with Hollandaise sauce.
Dessert
I got the crème brûlée. It was so rich and creamy. The caramelized sugar on top was so good. You can actually crack it. It was delicious.
Drinks
They have a lot of drink options. They have a wide variety of wines.
LA Prime is an upscale steakhouse located on the 35th floor of The Westin Bonaventure Hotel. It’s an award-winning restaurant celebrated for its spectacular panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles.
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel is an iconic architectural landmark in downtown Los Angeles, famous for its frequent use as a filming location. It’s a 35-story hotel known for its distinctive glass towers and massive multi-story atrium, having been featured in numerous films such as The Dark Knight Rises, Mission: Impossible III, True Lies, Terminator, Hancock, and Wonder Woman.
Highly recommend it when you are in Los Angeles CA.
The view is stunning, but beyond that I did not think the experience was worth what I paid.
Multiple servers asked if I would rather sit in a booth away from the window. It felt like they were trying to keep tables near the window open for larger groups. I think I should have a view too.
The Delmonico was tough, which the server did warn me about, but I had a difficult time eating it. For sides, I chose the asparagus and the creamed corn. I was very impressed with both, and especially to see elevated creamed corn on a menu.
There was no cocktail menu. It would be nice to see some house specialties.
LA Prime is located on the 35th floor of the Westin. We stayed there for a couple of days, so we dined in to take advantage of the breathtaking view.
The restaurant’s famous dish is the 24-ounce bone-in ribeye—a huge portion that can easily serve two people. The scallops are perfectly cooked, resembling those made by chefs in Hell’s Kitchen.
The view is unbelievable. From daylight to nightfall, we enjoyed the sunset over Downtown LA while dining. Both our eyes and stomachs were pleased.
