I was just standing with my brother while he is getting food. I said you know what let me order a plate of fries. I asked how much fries do I get served and he said in the to go plate. I said that’s fine since it’s $5. I get home and a find just maybe a handful. This is outrageous. Never getting this again.

Today, I decided to do a door dash run for a customer. My buddy hooked me up and prepared a complimentary to-go order just for me. This was well-prepared, fresh, and flavorful with every bite. I always wanted to try the Palestine Cola too…He surely didn’t disappoint. Please check them out. I didn’t have to wait long. Thanks. This encouraged me to continue my hustle and truly made my day! -Weldon B.

This is the perfect comfort meal that’s fulfilling but not feeling overly full. I got the brisket sandwich and I have ate here prior. Everything they have is so good and they’re so sweet. ❤️

We’ve probably been coming to Abu Omar Halal for about three months now, and at this point it’s no longer “trying a new place”… it’s a ritual. Their food is consistently delicious—hands down the best Arabic food my wife and I have had so far in Baton Rouge.

But let me tell you something: Abu Omar is not just about incredible falafels or a gyro that’s juicy and cooked to absolute perfection. No—Abu Omar is about the hands that cook the food. And that’s where Moe comes into the story.

Moe is not the kind of cook you’d expect to see in a food truck or behind a counter—no beer belly, no stained apron, no tired look. This guy is over six feet tall and looks like he was pulled straight out of a UFC championship. Serious face, calm presence… the kind of guy that makes you think, “Yeah, this man could absolutely take me down if he wanted to”

But then you talk to him.

And everything changes.

Moe is genuinely one of the nicest, most approachable, and most service-oriented people you’ll meet. You can talk to him about anything—food, life, culture—and you’ll never get bored. He even told us one day that he’d invite us over during Ramadan so we could experience real homemade food. That kind of generosity and openness is rare, and it tells you everything about the heart behind this place.

So Moe—thank you. Thank you for the care you put into every plate, and thank you especially for saving me every time my wife is stressed. All it takes is one falafel sandwich with extra garlic sauce, and boom—stress gone. She’s instantly happy again

If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor: go visit Abu Omar Halal. Order the food. But more importantly, take a moment to get to know the “UFC champion” behind the grill—the soul of the place.

You’ll leave full… in every sense of the word. ❤️

Let me start by saying I am Lebanese. Been in Louisiana for 26 years and I haven’t had good Lebanese food anywhere here. But Abu Omar proved me wrong. My daughter is obsessed with their chicken shawarma. And she had the real stuff at home and back in Lebanon when we visit. I tried their falafel today. Hummus and garlic sauce. So good. Please give this small food truck your business better than any lebanese restaurants I have been to in louisiana. You won’t regret it.

I ordered a chicken kofta kabob salad with no olives and no chickpeas with extra corn & a beef kabob . I got a sprinkle of lettuce onions, extra onions no corn at all jalapeño and tomatoes . Talk about disappointing then I told the guy it was wrong and he told me he was closed . Online say they close at three . They ask gave me all beef kabobs and no chicken

I pulled up on a late night for the first time not knowing exactly what I wanted. They suggested the chicken shawarma and let me tell you it did not miss. The food was great, as well as the service. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu!

Food was very bland. It lacked a lot of seasoning. A white sauce tasted sour mayonnaise. $15 lamb gyro bowl wasn’t worth it.

The food is awesome Alhamdulillah. The service was quick as well. The garlic sauce is the best. We tried that with lamb shawarma arabi. Fries, pickled vegetables, garlic sauce were served along with that. The portion size was sufficient, for brunch 2 can easily share one meal. The price is good as well. In shaa Allah we’ll definitely visit again.

We got the Italian shawarma and quesadilla. The flavor was good but they were both dry (not enough sauce). Also the fries weren’t how they were pictured they were frozen crinkle fries with a little seasoning but not enough to taste. The vegetables were good. The soft drinks they sell are in cans so consider that for the price. The garlic sauce is just like mayo with a little bit of garlic flavor. If there was more sauce on the food and the fries were better I would give it 5 stars.
