I went here for the first time today and called ahead of time to get takeout. On the phone the lady taking my order said that a cheeseburger was $7.50 and that it included potato chips for free unless I wanted to add fries then it would be an additional $3.00. I was ordering food for my girlfriend so I decided we should both get fries too. I asked for the total and the waitress said $21.75. I left the restaurant only to see that I didn’t get any fries. I was confused so I went back inside believing that a mistake may have been made. The manager then told me that because I asked for pickles, lettuce and a single tomato slice it was an additional $2.25. I left after that and after getting home and trying my burger I found out that it was a total waste of money as it wasn’t anything special by any means. It was super small and the flavor just wasn’t there. I’ve had better burgers at school growing up as a kid. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but I probably won’t be going back because the lady on the phone said $21.75 with fries on both orders and totally left out the fact that adding the lettuce, tomato and pickles would cost additional. I also wish they would of apologized but weren’t friendly. I wouldn’t say they were rude but they weren’t friendly.

We were tourists in town and were pleasantly surprised. We found our meal to be good tasting at a great value. Service was prompt and friendly. There was only one surprise. When we received our dinner check tax was already a day figured in but when we handled the bill at the register it was higher. Their credit card processor charges a fee and that was automaticaly being passed on to us. I would have like to know that before hand otherwise I would have paid cash. Once again, overall, great experience and good food.

Very much a hometown cafe. Very attractive & clean. Value is very good with many, many, many entrees under $10.⁰⁰. Menu photos as of July 2024. I very rarely give 5 stars. This cafe really deserves it. I would definitely come back. Breakfast served all day except Friday. Bathrooms are large, clean, and HC accessible.

Decided to treat myself to a hot meal after a night of rain while camping at Brunet Island State Park. Sam’s Place is THE place to have a lovingly prepared, delicious meal. The chicken and dumpling soup was homemade and the chicken was shredded white and dark meat. It was perfect. I ordered a burger and fries and everything came out hot. The burger was huge and the fries crispy.
The quality was great and each and every employee took the time to chat with me, both the waitstaff and kitchen staff. Very friendly atmosphere with employees who want their customers to have a great meal. I recommended

We went there for lunch on a weekday. It wasn’t busy so we got a table right away. The menu has a lot of options and there are daily specials. Prices are extremely reasonable. Nice portions and everything we had was great. We even got soup to go. Fast service. We would definitely go there again.

We ordered carry out Chicken for 40 people, it was excellent. The chicken was nice size pieces, done to perfection. The sides Jo-Jo. french-fries, and coleslaw were also good. Sam and her staff was right on time and very accommodating. Will order again.
